RONIN1191 Posted March 13, 2008 Share Posted March 13, 2008 take two has already said they are going to remain independant. hopefully your right man but you never know what will happen, if EA buys out T2 somehow, im going to cry over this and cherish GTAIV as the last real GTA Prepare yourselves, because that just might be the case. I said this before, if EA bought out TT and did its usual housecleaning, then we could pretty much expect GTA to be another Madden type franchise. A few bells and whistles, and a couple of glitches just for kicks but overall pretty much more of the same. I would expect that R* would pull up the anchor and head for new ports; and if they do so, I'll be watching them to see what they do next. GTA the name might be foregone, but the actual GAME, what we know and love, R* would find a way to bring it to us. GTA is just a name, I'm all about what's BEHIND that name. Sure Madden is a bit stale, but what more can you add to a football game? They have some good studios and great franchises asnd the move to EA would only mean 1 of 2 things. 1. R* packs up and leaves 2. EA keeps R* and gives them a freaking HUGE budget to make an even better game. I don't see either being a problem because if they move then we'll still be getting their games and if they stay they get a HUGE budget for an awesome game. Although EA may possibly increase the number of games they expect from Rockstar and other developers, I can see it now: EA present Grand Theft Auto Allied Assault. In two years GTA V would be out...with Packie Mcreary on the cover lobbing a grenade like a football. Sure the graphics and setting would be the exact same as IV, but rest assured that unnecessary features would be added, such as a vision cone so he could snipe a ped in Broker from Bohan. In fact, the title GTA is so last gen, so instead they can call it Liberty City SIMulation '10. If EA buys out TT, then GTA IV is the last GTA ill preorder, which is sad because I never had to worry about quality from this franchise until EA slithered along and decided to buy up the entire f**king universe. Sure have this spare $2m scratching around in my coat pocket." I wouldn't buy it until I'd read at least five reviews all giving it at least an 8.5/9. You just know EA would add sh*te to the game. Exclusive DLC for PS3, Xbox360, Wii and EAConsole. Note: Exclusive DLC only available on EAC for less than $99.95 per car or dog feces model. I know EA aren't stupid (look how far they've got) so hopefully they'll see sense with the GTA series at least and just leave R* to do it in their own time how they want, with NO interruptions (unless they want to throw some cash at them). I read the Edge article today on GTA and Sam Houser really is inspiring in the way he goes about making GTA and embraces the team's ideas and concepts. I just know EA would send a director down and say: "Hey, here's the score guys. We're going to buy some rap for the game just so we're down with the kids, maybe some pop for the other kids. Oh, keep the same engine; hell improving on it would just make the game worse! Budget cuts.... Errr yeah, you, you, you, you and you, we can't afford your salaries. Right, we have five months to pump this game out. Now I know what you're thinking 'How on Earth can we do that in five months?!', well don't worry, marketing have that covered. They're simply going to show everyone pre-rendered imagery and say 'This is the actual game, yep' and then when the game comes out we'll pack up all our things and run before they figure out we scammed them! It never fails. Why are you looking at me like that?" The last EA game I paid for was BF2 and it was alright. The only redeemable feature it had was the amazing efforts of many mod teams who were determined to make such a buggy engine good. So when I say this, I know what I'm talking about: F*ck EA. Why dont they just acquire T2 instead of taking over it. If they acquired it they wouldnt being wiping out such a big brand they would just have ownership of the names and licenses You should still buy Grand Theft Auto iv because EA would not have any time to change that game.
