crackdawg
(On a more personal note to Rockstar: Our subways in the real New York City aren't dingy and graffiti-covered anymore. And the building where this story was filed houses MTV, not Music Entertainment TV, aka Me TV. What exactly is "GTA IV" trying to imply?) Uhh ohh someone wasn't accurate. I like how R* patronizes MTV for broadcasting over produced garbage. That documentary "Marketing Cool" sums up what MTV is. MTV brought us such things as unnecessary social awkwardness and acceptable materialism. Also they throw in slander towards mature games in key parts of there writeup. Helsinki
the rotor blades magically hurting no oneWhat kind of bullsh*t is that ?Yeah, I hope that was just a poor way of saying they were "lucky" nobody got hurt, cause if I'm gonna see helicopter blades magically going through people I'm gonna be f*ckin' pissed. Ravenwood
"Mostly we used the helicopter to land on skyscrapers and in busy intersections, the rotor blades magically hurting no one" WHAT THE HELL? I agree. But the rest of the game looks great.
Devil's Taking Names
I like the phone usage 'This last mission, named "Call and Collect," featured Niko helping a dirty cop by shaking down a blackmailer. We did this — almost — without firing a shot, relying instead on the power of cell phone technology. The blackmailer was hanging out near a fountain in a small park, though the game didn't indicate exactly which person milling about in that area was him. Instead, Niko received a text message on his ever-available cell phone. With a few presses of the controller, we could call the texted number, causing the blackmailer's phone to ring. Once the call commenced, the goal was to walk Niko through a crowd of people, looking and listening for someone talking on their cell phone. We heard him first and eventually stood face to face, with Niko's and the blackmailer's phones to their ears, their voices echoing through the phones and the virtual thin air. The blackmailer almost ran. Niko's gun stopped him. And then Niko ran from the cops. Mission just about complete.' That rules. Kind of reminds me of the Departed. Very suspenseful. Snake Without a Tongue
A Rockstar rep told MTV News that the developers didn't even want those found items to glow, as they do now, because that's not realistic. But a concession was made so players could more easily identify what they could and should try to grab in this world. Sounds like Mercs. I'm glad, but I wish they had left off the glowing. Darrel
I agree the preview was just awful. MTV dont deserve exclusive screenshots. Espeically how they watermarked them like that.
RONIN1191
Jordan, thanks. Those screens look awesome! That bit about the rotors passing harmlessly through stuff/people...hey, they better fix that! Some of the fun I've had in a chopper was mowing the grass; peds being the grass of course.
technods
I agree the preview was just awful. MTV dont deserve exclusive screenshots. Espeically how they watermarked them like that. geomy
Those screenshots are awesome. It's a pity they've been absolutely raped by what are arguably the most ridiculous watermarks I've ever seen in my life. Lens flares are so 2007. Nah, more like 'so 20th century.' But yeah, way to ruin an exclusive (not to mention beautiful) couple of pics. And was it just me, or did the article sound like it was written for a 4th grade assignment? I remember why I hate MTV. crux989
There was an preview. It was done by MTV. I read it. And it sounded like this. Atleast they told us about the awesome magic powers peds have. I guess that was worth the migrane.

Some of these previewers are just full of sh*t, for example one of the previews said that you can't import your own music into GTA IV, which is hard to believe. Heres the quote I try the mission again. On the way I fiddle about with the car radio - left and right on the d-pad change station. Although you can't import your own music into GTA 4 (I'm told it wouldn't be in keeping with the tone of the series and wouldn't allow funny advertisements and droll Djs to amuse players), you won't want to. There are loads of stations, divided up into genres from rock to my personal favourite, electronica. That's possibly the most f*cked up thing I've ever seen. And I've seen the BME PO, 2G1C, and a dude getting raped by a horse. And I take about my earlier statement about the screens being good. Well, I mean, the actual screens are good, but they f*cked the sh*t out of them with that news-flash-looking watermark bullsh*t. What do they think we're going to do, go out and sell them or something?
Magic_Al
- Totilo said that he thought the Statue of Happiness looked a lot like Hillary Clinton. Intentional or not, that's pretty funny. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas "has so many demeaning messages about women and so encourages violent imagination and activities and it scares parents.... They're playing a game that encourages them to have sex with prostitutes and then murder them. You know, that's kind of hard to digest." -- Hillary Clinton To be fair, Clinton is actually sane, unlike Jack Thompson. She only wants to keep GTA away from kids, while Thompson actually wants it banned using kids as an excuse.

If I want to listen to this while Im shooting hookers in the back of the head LET ME. They dictate many different aspects of the game. If you have a problem with it, send Sam Houser an email. How about another example. R* dictates how your controller will be set up. How do you feel about that? There are so many things you can't change. Unfortunately, that's what you get when you play GTA on a console. I wouldn't be happy or satisfied with that, so I'm going to wait till the beta testing is over.
