Tonay_Montana
Reading the little news bit about the hidden package thing, I started thinking about the hidden packages from vice city, gta 3, and the other collection things from San Andreas. Do you think they will make a return in GTA IV? Why or why not would you like to see them in the upcoming GTA? I would like to see them return, but this time I hope they can be a little less tedious than in previous GTA's. It would be nice if there was an ingame hint system or some proactive thing you can do, to help you find them. It gets a little frustrating when you found 99, and can't find the last one so you gotta try them all again, or use a guide. I also think a more reasonable amount like 50 could give players more motivation to actually collect them all. Maybe when you find a hidden package and collect it, text pop up and reads "Hidden Package #1 of 50 found" to give you reference so you can keep track of all the ones you have already collected. Would like to hear your thoughts on this.
scarface910
There is something like that in the game, for san andreas at least. And anyone who got 100 hidden packages or 100 percent almost definitely used a guide.

mac915
If they do have hidden packages, I think they should tie into the reality of the world a little better. Instead of them being just some random thing that you collect, maybe have a character that gives you a scavenger hunt. My thoughts: You get a call from a mysterious number you don't know. You answer it and a voice tells you to go somewhere and pick up something that doesn't belong or that seems out of place. After you find it, he tells you that he's hidden 50 other objects(could be different, could be the same) around LC, and that Niko finding them all will net him a surprise. Thats exactly what i mean, just something to make it more interesting, and like you said fit the whole realism theme. The surprise will give you incentive to actually try for this goal! RidingHigh
Maybe the hidden packages could be drugs for Little Jacob. He tells you there's a couple of packages stashed around the docks. You find them, and you get money and better deals on weapons, or even free weapons delivered at your safehouse. Just like the main goal for packages has always been. CosmosTheMouse
And anyone who got 100 hidden packages or 100 percent almost definitely used a guide. I got 100% in VC and 98% in GTA3 (missing 1 package and 1 mission that somehow never respawned again) without a guide. And i wasn't about to attempt 100% in San Andreas... that would take forever. mick69
there should be only one set of hidden items not like san andreas where you have to take snapshots collect horse shoes, oysters and spray tags even though i did 100% they were the most annoying and stressful part of the game
Hodgey.
I wouldnt mind them tellin you were #1 is then when you find it, it gives you a clue were the #2 could be instead of runnin around lookin or somehin you may never find.
