NintendoFanboy
What does he mean when he says "there's a little bit of a budget involved"? How long are his radio shows? If he has an entire show in it I wonder how long it will be? How much audio was recorded?

Isn't there always a budget involved when R* creates radio stations and licenses music? Is this particular station costing them more money? Well, it's kinda like GTA 3, where there's going to be alot of underground Rap/Hip Hop. Which cost less to put in the Game.

Oh, so Rockstar are trying to spend as little money as possible then if they want underground since it's cheaper? That's why lantern said there is a "little budget." derek3056
I'm sorry, but I don't like the idea of the entire hip-hop radio station in GTA IV to be all music by Green Lantern. That kinda sucks. So, in reality...there really isn't a whole lot of variety if all the other stations are simulear.
kiloweight
Well, that's 1 station confirmed to be completely ruined, 17 to go. How could anyone be excited to hear this dog****? Personally I'd rather listen to anything but hip hop aka "urban" , the opera station, the talk shows, the new russian station will kickass if its anything even partially resembling the russian station in gta 2, hell it was even occasionally fun being pursued by the cops while listening to country in san andreas! This stuff is just garbage tho that will do nothing but waste time every time I want to cycle to a listenable station. But,hey! Nobody really gives a f*ck about what you want.

JoseGrapinino
I would assume they'll have at least 2 rap stations(They did in SA with less stations). One will probably be underground stuff & the other more mainstream. I hope they have a good variety so everyone is happy. Looking forward to their commercials myself. ChaniWani
Yay, rockstar seems to have put some thought into their in Game Hip Hop/Rap, GTA3 and San Andreas had some sik as rappers in thier games, but with their low budget on Radio this year it probably means that they'll be using some Cheaper but better Rappers that today has to offer. Like Nas Said, Hip Hop is pretty much dead. So if they get Underground rappers like Common, Mos Def, EPMD, Method Man, RedMan and Wu-Tang clan then the music will really kik ass!! tmac9wr
All those rappers are good, but I don't think I'd classify them as "Underground"... I'd label people like Immortal Technique (who is amazing as someone mentioned earlier) and Gravediggers as underground hip-hop. I don't really listen to any Underground though. I just hope they'll have some older East Coast rap from the 90s (hopefully from like 1992 to 1998). That's when hip-hop really peaked in my opinion. There have been some good new artists since then like Eminem, 50 Cent (for a little while..."Get Rich or Die Tryin" was a great album), and The Game...but most of the new guys aren't too good. MrKlorox
If you dont't like hip-hop or rap, ignore it. Don't listen to it, don't bash it, don't do anything... pretend it doesn't exist. For those of us that do enjoy it, I hope the NY based semi-underground Def Jux label is represented. I've just been introduced to the label and have gotten into virtually everything I've heard from it. Regardless, NY has a f*cking HUGE rap scene, so one singular rap station just doesn't make all the sense in the world to me. If I read the letters combining to make the word "Eminem" again, I will cringe, shudder, and seize as if I was living in a chalk-board universe walking in fingernail shoes. Rob.
Green-Lantern remixed the Beatie Boys "To the 5 Boroughs" and it's an awesome New York album, so I imagine it'll sound similar to a few tracks featured on that. Good news though.

How can you label I.T. as Underground, and not Uncle Murda? Or Even Styles P? I.T. isn't really underground anymore, his ''revolutionary rap'' has made him an icon, and he chooses to remain unsigned, probably to make a point. I.T., Uncle Murda & Styles P are all kinda the same status, commercial-wise. Some other artists i'm really hoping make it in somewhere: Jadakiss Ransom Joe Budden (Mood Muzik, not the commercial stuff) The Fugees (Fu-Gee-La, Family Business, The Score) Big Pun B.I.G. Mobb Deep (90's stuff) Nas (90's stuff) Onyx Wu Tang and also Terror Squad (from the 90's, preferably without Fat Joe.)

Many successful artists coem from New York and the game is based on NEw York. Get over it. Your gonna have Hip hop station no matter what. No one listens to garbage you listen to. Fair enough in GTA 3 i listened to all stations. But Hip Hop to be honest is the biggest genre of music. In England people never used to listen to it as much as they do now. Even white business men have it on thier mp3 or blaring out of their cars.. get over it!
