[DRuG]NikT
woh dude.. bad luck... Have you tried totally removing power from the system, like, so it's not even in standby, removing the graphics card. trying a different one if you can or just reseating it? This has worked for me in the past.. there was a switch at the back, additional to the one at the front... leaving the back one off for about 20 seconds did the trick. I hope it works out for you - the train is looking really nice. Edited March 17, 2008 by [DRuG]NikT
Supra4
Yup, sounds like a graphic card eating itself. Or perhaps you could check the power supply to the graphics card. My radeon X1300 has a pretty terrible connection there. Just a slight knock (like a cat jumping on to the pc case) is enough to make the screen go FUBAR. That means opening the case, fiddling with the connector and rebooting the PC.
Puma06111991
I'm back again, currently running on a 10-year old card (1998) called "3Dfx Voodoo Banshee". My father had this card somewhere and plugged it in.. Lol, kinda funny it works on a moden PCI-system. It was his first 3d-card Kinda funny it works with 1248x1024 and 32bit Maybe you guys'll be glad and think that I can continue with my train now: sorry, but this card doesn't support games which are higher graphically designed than games like Star Wars: Rogue Sqadron (which I played when I was at the age of 8)... Fairlight_
Yeah, its very good, but don't match with the Loco (Red and Gray ) 'Should add a new color...
[DRuG]NikT
Loco is lookin mad Puma -- I love the fact you can run around inside it with no problems... I wonder how hard it would be to script a function so he can sit down.. anyone have any ideas on that? If it's any consolation, when I was making most of my planes, my system had broken RAM, which would cause the computer to reboot at random. You got pretty good at saving, and spent a lot of time just sitting there trying to think of reasons not to throw the monitor out the window Don't forget a new graphics card is usually pretty cheap.. in Australia $200 would get you a pretty snappy ATI PCI-e 512Mb card. Puma06111991
I want to finish this project, but that's only possible if someone tells me how to make the train-driver standing instead of sitting.. And yes, I know it has something to do with the animations, but how do I do that?
Supra4
You'll need to get a hold of Persanity. he made CJ stand up in the hydra for a mod of his. It involves either a custom animation or a CLEO script.

JostVice
My critics - I see no specular? - Where is the steam? Anyway, modelling looks good
Puma06111991
With "specular" you mean such of a light? Well, I tried to prelight it and the model did became lighter, but it looked awful. And uh, about the steam: I added an exhaust (lol, now I remember to put it in the handling too..) but that didn't work. Now I realise that I need to configure it in the handling......After the prelightning it looked like this: Worse Edited April 2, 2008 by Puma06111991
mentally_insane800
You should think about modeling a coal car or a tender for the locomotive as well. Or maybe a caboose. Either way real nice job, I've been looking for a steam train to put in SA for ages now. Thanks for releasing it.
GTA_XP
Too dark and unlighted. You have 3ds max right? Put then a seculair light. And about the steam, handling.cfg or dummy have no effect for the steam. You have to put a particle effects to train. I think the "smogfire" or something. And you have to do that with 3ds max7 or 8. Btw, nice model for in "SA".
