joe_bevis Posted March 12, 2008 Share Posted March 12, 2008 gta iv will be released roughly 3 and a half years after san andreas was on the ps2 thats a long time time to wait for a video game. how long would you be prepared to wait for the next gta if r* spend a long time making the game then it will really annoying waiting for but it would be amazing. but if they were quick then you would'nt have to wait as long but the game would be crap so how long are you prepared to wait for the next gta? adrian949 Posted March 12, 2008 Share Posted March 12, 2008 ya three half years would be where i bet my money because if it was another three years that would be another april release and they like their october releases, i would say 2 and half years because they probably are getting familiar with both consoles, but with the idea of DLC (mentioned above me) they probably want to drag IV out to make profits. so expect a game 25th of October 2011 lolz (that seems way far they probably would have a new xbox out by then) EDIT: maybe we ll be seeing a lot of GTA games of take two is aquired by EA resulting in freguent sh*tty GTA games Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Due to digital delivery (DLC) i can see extra content being pumped onto the 360 till it ends its life cycle. Dont forget its the 360`s 3rd birthday this year, and consoles generally have a 5 year life, so im willing to put my money where my mouth is! The only reason they took so long is because they had to create Rage and incorporate Euphoria into real time game play. Now that they've already done this they have a reliable game engine to make the next-gen GTA's. I would've said two years if it wasn't for DLC. I think they are likely to concentrate more on DLC, and I think there will be more than just the two dlc episodes that are planned for 360. Their focus is on quality, not quanity, and I'm very greatful for that. I'm usually pretty eager for another GTA about a year after I pick up the newest one, but for me, it has always been worth the wait for the next GTA, because they're just so beyond bad-ass! But...when you think of GTAIII compared to GTA 2, and San Andreas to GTA III, the quality has risen exponentially with each release. I just know IV is going to blow San Andreas away. Then, just imagine how much improved V, and VI will be, respectively, compared to IV! EA bullsh*t aside, I think exciting times are ahead for the GTA franchise, and it's fans. It should be apparant that Rockstar like to get as much use out of their technology before making a new engine; and a new numbered GTA would be on a new engine and sets of hardware. There were three primary games in the vein of GTA3, you can expect three more for this GTA4 generation (DLC does not count). I mean Vice City is more like 3.2 and San Andreas is more like GTA 3.3 to GTA3's 3.1. GTA4.2 should take no more than two years after the last DLC drops. Since the main GTA team at Rockstar North have gotten the really hard stuff out of the way (new engine/technology driving the game, revamping the entire gameplay perspective, and adding fleshing out some new concepts) with GTA4, it stands to reason that another GTA will drop within two years. There are different teams working on the DLC and the main game... while the DLC teams are finishing up their stuff, the main team will be working on a whole new GTA. I would even bet there are two separate DLC teams working on different projects right now, STILL before the launch of the main game. Dude, we all know how the naming of the GTA series works. Ignorance isn't an issue in this case. We use "V", and "VI" because the future games are as of yet, untitiled, so using the roman numerals makes it easy for others to understand what we're refering to.
