Black Ghost
hey How are you ,,, Is there any way to edit txd from the ps2? I use Vice TXD but when i want to start the TXD file this come out We might have a problem here... So can i edit that or not?
DexX
Steve M made a Txd Viewer, which should allow you to view most txd images from the ps2 versions of gta. Do note that is a viewer - not an editor, therefore you cannot save the ps2 txds. As far as i know, no one has written an app yet which can edit ps2 txds. IronMaiden93
there is a way to edit the games its just WAY to difficult you need to buy a chip which reads burnt games and that is expensive so i would just stick to modding the computer version
Black Ghost
ok if i can use the Txd Viewer there must be ways with out BUYING becuse i am just 14 years old and my father have the net card and he dont want me to use it I thing some thing if i edit the TXD on the pc game and i rep;ace it with the TXD on the ps2 game , Is this going to work? Mag-got
You'd still have to burn the edited/new data to the disk. You'd have to create your own txd tool for PS2 Vice City or wait until Steve-M makes one that can export & import, mod it, burn the disc (don't know if it would even work), buy a chip. I prefer sticking to the PC version.
Black Ghost
. You'd have to create your own txd tool How i will do that? Do must i need to have c++ skill? until Steve-M makes one that can export & import Do you have his email or some thing like this buy a chip OK what is the chip name? and from where i buy it?I NEED MORE INFO I prefer sticking to the PC version. yeah i know but i will be great if it was on ps2
Mag-got
Mmm sure you could make your tool with c++, but there are other programming languages to make tools too. http://www.steve-m.com/contact/ I don't think he will be making the tool so you can edit the PS2 files, only view. Chips Check out the "PS2 Slide Card and Swap Magic 3.3", after reading that page.
Black Ghost
Mmm sure you could make your tool with c++, but there are other programming languages to make tools too. b b but i dont know c++ [i dont know any programming languages] Check out the "PS2 Slide Card and Swap Magic 3.3", after reading that page. hey you want me to put chip on my ps2 or pc ? if yes, i want to make the game for all ps2 not just my ps2
Mag-got
There are other programming languages but forget about making this if you can't program. Did you read the "PS2 Slide Card and Swap Magic 3.3" at all, it's not a chip but it lets you play CD-Rs on your PS2, so you can burn games into an CD-R and play. It goes into your PS2, and works for all versions of PS2. And I don't think you would make a game, you would make a mod, but you don't have any tool to do that so it ain't possible yet with no tools so stick to the PC version. Supra4
Really, forget the PS2 and switch to PC if you want to mod. There's a very good reason why the entire community evolves around the PC version. By the time you've succesfully modded 5 objects, you'll have spent more money on DVD-Rs than the PC version costs. Not to mention the fact that a PS2 only runs a 300MHz CPU, which means it'll get into serious trouble once you start modding.

The ps2 stuff is barely viewable, and it's only through steve's fancy trickery at that - he hacked the swizzling in. Saving ps2 txd's is not going to happen. Mag-got
so any one will work on the new TXD program ? i just want to know? Why would someone do hours of work so that you could change your TXD files on your PS2, while modding the PC version is so easy? And Steve-M is maybe the only one that knows something about PS2 TXD:s here

The Hero
If you can program, there should really be no problem editing ps2 txds. You just need to write code to convert images to the correct format and replace the original textures with them. I know quite a bit about ps2 dffs and txds (not everything!) so I could help you, if you need help with the format. re3, reVC Tools: RenderWare file converter, DFF importer and exporter for 3ds max III, VC, SA: SkyGfx: PS2 and Xbox graphics for PC, PS2 and Xbox vehicles for PC, Debug menu III, VC: rwd3d9, sharptrails, PS2 and Xbox map for PC III: Skin and Bones, Into TheTimecycle!!!, LC98 VC: Beta Infernus, Phoenix and Cop car SA: PS2 to PC map General: Simple DLL loader My Workshop.
