[-Vice-Andreas-] Posted March 12, 2008 Share Posted March 12, 2008 I pre-ordered San Andreas, and walked out the shop seeing a whole rack of copies of the game, which made me realise how much there was no point in bothering with pre-ordering. But for GTA4, it seems like such a big title, the first GTA for next gen, so I'm unsure if I should pre-order or just go in and buy it normally. Pre-orders scare me but. Theres a band in Australia, Silverchair (actually I live in their hometown Newcastle!) and when they released their new album Young Modern last year, alot of people (fanclub members even) pre-ordered the album, and due to one reason or another, people who pre-ordered weren't able to pick up their copy for like a week after the album was released. So people like me who bought the album at the last minute normally, actually got it sooner than the pre-order people. So I'm worried it might be too late to pre-order, and they won't give me my copy until weeks after GTA4 is first released. like because I'm a late pre-order they might not give me mine until the second batch of shipments. I asked them the other day how the long the list was and while they didn't tell me specifically, they said I shouldn't worry about not getting it on release day. On topic: Dude what you said about the pre-orders has scared me now. lol I don't think it'll be a problem though. I pre-ordered SA here, and got it without incident. If anything I should be able to walk into the shop on the day of release, and walk out in 5 minutes. Many people around here don't know about GTA IV. I can't get the SE in a brick and mortar store here (Ireland), I've tried 4 of the biggest stores and all told me I'd need to go online. MysteryGamer Posted March 12, 2008 Share Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) Even with a mammoth title like Grand Theft Auto IV it won't sell out everywhere, but if you want the Special Edition then I would pre-order it now ASAP because they may sell out but the regular version shouldn't. Don't forget not everyone has a next-gen console or will buy one, I can only see some countries or small towns selling out but they you have online retailers who should be stocking plenty.
