Mr_Beelzebub
Hi, I have a bit of an annoyance with GTA:SA, you can not move backwards. Your whole body turns, so if your in a gunfight your back is away from the other shooters. I did notice you can walk backwards when aiming the AK. Its also a pain once your back is turned, cause you have to move forward to get pointing in the right direction. Is there anyway to setup the mouse to control your direction, I.E. you to have move the mouse to turn around. I guess right now the mouse is almost acting like its in free mouse view mode or something. I haven't played the GTA3, and VC for a while, but I'm sure you could walk backwards without your body turning.
mr_bungle
Um, there might be. But the game might also be programmed to do that. I find that if you just aim, you can move backwards? I'm pretty sure you can do it on PS2. Not sure though, haven't played SA in abit, shocking I know.
sheek...
Do you mean when you "strafe" backwards because on PS2 version he backs up with the gun pointed at the enemy if that is what you are talking about I might have misunderstood what you were saying
Mr_Beelzebub
It is the PC version and he does actually walk backwards when aiming with some of weapons. So far I noticed the AK, MP4, unscoped rifle, and single handgun. He turns around when not aiming, or any of the double weapons (holding a weapon in each hand). I might be able to edit a file, but I'm not sure what file controls the movement. Of course it might be hard coded. I don't want to mess with the auto aim stuff, cause I kinda of like the new aiming, just want to be able to walk backwards.
brasas
Hi. You may have been playing the game wrong... You can certainly back up, provided you MAINTAIN the aim-lock painted on targets. If you RUN backwards, of course the game will make your player abandon his firing stance to move to another position faster. Hope this helped
lil weasel
Once you have 'earned' the straffing level of competency with a weapon, whilst aiming you can move backwards or side to side with target locked. the game Tells you when you have reached the various skill levels. brasas
Once you have 'earned' the straffing level of competency with a weapon, whilst aiming you can move backwards or side to side with target locked. That's correct. Just to reiterate, it's called Gangster Level.
Rusty007
I see how it could be a bother but I never seem to notice. Usually I'm not walking backwards (unless I wasnt JC to moon walk ) and like most have already said only really necessary when aiming at a target. brasas
To be more specific, you DON'T even need to have Gangster Level achieved for any particular firearm so that you can move backwards while still aiming.. Like I was trying to say on my first post to this topic, all you need to do is keep your targets LOCKED (right-mouse button for PC). ANSWERED.
