Some of the little details seem amazing, cant wait to just stand still and watch the world go on around with pedestrians going theyre daily ways...

Yea that'll be ace!

Noxiousd: you heard anything or know anything on the subject of garages?!

http://gtahq.multiplayernetwork.net/ (it's near the bottom somewhere)

I'll also quote for the sake of other people who just can't be bothered lol

DC88 from GTAForums has gotten the April issue of OXM (Official Xbox Magazine), and it contains a new preview of Grand Theft Auto IV, along with one new screenshot.

The screenshot shows Niko in a black suit, holding a rocket launcher, and standing next to a blown-up car. The only new point mentioned in the preview is that painted yellow lines adjacent to safehouses (in dense areas such as Algonquin) serve as garages.

"Park your car there and it'll remain there indefinitely," the magazine says. Everything else in the preview, which includes seven other screenshots, has been seen or mentioned before.

I thought to myself after reading this, would that mean we'd have to drive all the way to another place just to repair our cars or maybe the car wash would have something to do with it?!...but that would ruin it slightly, for me anyway, as it would take away some of the aspects of reality =[

Anyone else got any more info or ideas?

ALSO: What do they mean by driving next to the jet? Did they drive with a vehicle or helicopter or what? And can we go inside them and blow them up and stuff like that? lol I'm too hyped.

Holy Crap, is that the Countryside?

es un modelo.. no necesariamente un modelo a scala (maqueta?)  pero un modelo hecho en un computador. creo....si no me entendio no se preocupe porque yo tampoco entendi lo que escribi.

I think it says: It's a model...not neccessarily a model by scale (scale model?) but a model created on a computer. I believe...if you don't understand me don't worry, because I don't even understand what I wrote.

On another note. I don't think that one pic with the ferris wheel is in-game. It look waaay too good; too life like.

i dont like using keyboard and mouse when playing FPS on here tis why i enjoy consoles more, and i love how pc fanboys abuse you for having an opinion or bashing you beacuse you dont like K&M, but yea i prefer consoles a whole lot more then playing on pc, my choice smile.gif, but is a few games ill be getting for my pc in the future that i really wanna get

The great thing about this generation of consoles is that the controllers can be used on the PC. I'm sure Rockstar will make sure GTA4-PC will make use of X-INPUT (automatic mapping of controls to an xbox 360 controller). The PC version of San Andreas was very limited in control, out of the box, but once Racer_S created the San Andreas Advanced Control tool, it was the most controller-configurable game I've ever played. One could set up their controls for a 360 controller for better accuracy than the Xbox version played on a 360. What was even cooler was being able to drive and platform with the controller then set it down and use the mouse for precision shooting during the on-rails shooter missions; or using the controller on foot and switching to a force feedback (including return to center and various dimensions of tactile feedback) steering wheel while driving. I at least hope GTA4 allows for switching between the Microsoft Arcade Racer Wheel Thingy and controller.

However I will not have a PC capable of running GTA4 when it is released for PC (the presumed 6 months after console launch) therefore I will be playing the sh*t out of it on the 360 version. Eventually I will be able to get a new gaming PC, but by then GTA4 will be old news.

Also, EDGE is sold at Hasting's (Books Music and Video) stores in the South-Western USA.

well i got that xbox magazine yesterday and all they mean is that the safehouses in dense areas, probably really only in algonquin, there won't be a garage, which is quite realistic, so to replace the garage there will be a noticeable yellow painted strip on the side of the sidewalk where niko parks cars to save them. Other safehouses in the game will have the old fashioned garages most likely

Edge's Sam Houser interview as summarized by Gamesradar

Jesus, I'm away from the forums for like a f*cking day and I come back to an exclusive 16 page preview that's reached 16 pages and gotten over 40,000 views. I've missed too much and I don't feel like combing, so I'll just read this summary.

Thanks.

Still with all this PAGE S T R E T C H I N G A R E W E??

DAMN, I am annoyed at that still. BUT, regardless, I was prompted by the server being down earlier today and the talk of descent scans to check newstands near me. I saw what I think it the Feb issue of EDGE that features Far Cry 2 on the cover. Only three issues, nothing more.

It seems they just don't have this issue yet, but they may get it. I tried Gamespot and Shinders with no dice. This location in the USA is MicroCenter who also doo business sales online.

Anywho, I noted GTA4 DID make the cover of EGM that was in supply at the store, and it was sealed so I decided to buy it regardless and maybe try my scanner out again.

Has anyone reported on this issue? A lot of it discusses GTA's influence on gaming as well as how it all relates to new games mentioned...those that are similar to open world Sand-boxing.

I noted two pictures I have not seen just yet. Anyone get a thread going yet? I hate to post a duplicate to have it locked!

Yea, I saw the EGM copy today as well. I went into a borders in Manhattan today and saw what im guessing is the past issue of EDGE. It has Lego Indiana jones on the cover and no GTA preview, hopefully they'll get it here soon.

I had some business on the upper east side and I passed by the metlife (GETAlife in the game) building, and its crazy how accurate the in game model is. Its on thing to see in a picture and its another to see with your own eyes.

If you guys want to see any pictures of manhattan, I'd be happy to take some and post them on here.

Could this be the same copy you are talking about?

The EGM article describes some of the Scotland Rockstar offices who a member offered his own pictures of from the outside... I thought it was neat to get an inside description to coincide with that. I will get a host and some scans from this EGM so we can at least compare scanner quality! haha

I tried to open his scans in large mode and it offered a blank screen and upload option only. It seems others are able to read off them though. Anyway, I'll look over that and offer some better detail, or perhaps the additional story that follows the article?!

Just you wait... Nothing yet, BUT since that last bike pic was a washed out, darkened mess... Here's one that IS up and hasn't been talked about in depth....or has it?

I think there's one in the EGM article I haven't stumbled across yet, I have to look further to see.

That's definitely one of my favourite screen shots released so far, it my desktop image on my 2nd monitor right now.. the explosion looks amazing, especially the smoke, and whats the ped holding in the background? looks like a flame thrower to me..

The colour reminds me of San Andreas... very orangy..

Yea I understood that anyway but what I want to know is, how will we be able to fix our cars whilst in another location? say for instance I'm in Algonquin, no garages, I'm cruising along in the evening then some nutjob decides to shoot my car, I get out and kill him by beating him to a pulpified mess, then what do I do?! I don't want to be driving all the way to Broker or Bohan just to fix my car...

...I know in due course there will be the health cheat no doubt, so I could use that but in the mean time, I think Ill get pissed off...so back to my question, how do we repair our cars in places which don't have garages?
