16 Page Article In EDGE Magazine

Just received my copy of the magazine, has a massive interview with Sam Houser regarding the history of GTA and the stuff hes done with GTA4, some notable points he mentioned (sorry if it isnt new)...

- Comedy Clubs have a big role, as Strip Clubs did in previous GTA editions

- Jets and Planes fly through the Airport, and have visible pilots, the tester drove alongside a jet, only to have a 4 star wanted level appear, lol

- One encounter face-to-face with a cop got the response "I'm a cop...... and your a dickhead", seems the old humour is very much there

- A hint at some sort of freeroaming multiplayer, i'll quote exactly 'Houser isnt able to discuss in detail today, but he does mnetion being able to get together online in the game with no other goal other than using it as a meeting place "i'll meet you in a car and we'll hang and just drive and listen to music, chilling in the car, withy your 3d model sat next to me"

- The car paintjobs are noticeable from newer cars being gleaming and spotless, to old cars being rusted and dull

- Bulletholes are permanent, as is dirt on the cars

- Garbage men hang off the side of the vehicle as in real life

- Interior walls can be greatly damaged, "ripping chunks out of the plaster with gunfire"

Cool. Don't like how bulletholes are permanent. You can fill a whole wall and at the end of the game, all of the walls will ave bulletholes.

Its a really good read, Houser goes on about how Ray Liotta was an asshole, how he feels eastern european gangsters are tougher and less 'in the public eye' than other gangs and goes in depth about all the 3d games...

Also theres a mention of meeting girlfriends online aswell as in the game world, maybe at the [email protected]

Haha 16 pages. DAMN.

Thats alot, but i do like how the bullet holes will be permanent as you aint ever gonna destroy the whole of LC, but if you pass a building and theres chunks missin, might bring back some good memories, or even bad ones. suicidal.gif

I think it means bulletholes in cars only really, as the cache on the memory would lag like hell if it had to remember every single hole in a wall (like oblivion lagged if you didnt clear the cache every few weeks)

As long as you can f*cking read, PRAISE YOU.

Hell, as long as I can see the pics, it'd be awesome - I'm not that much of a reader anyway.

Also, theres a wireframe aerial shot of the fairground with the liberty eye in the centre, and another shot of the same scene fully rendered

what do you think the pink and yellow ride thing is?

Its a spinner type ride, like the waltzers, i also spy a go-kart track *jumps for joy*

And yes, the mag is a british mag, £4.50, i think the current one has indiana jones starwars on the cover as i get my copy a few days early

you reckon we will be able to use any of the rides

The go kart track is off the main road with no fences or blocking of anyway, so looks like it smile.gif
