David.
Yep, that was an insane race. I've just taken a break from posting here as I'm tired of the number of people who come here and just bitch and moan about how boring F1 has become. If anything, last two races proves otherwise. Spa's another month later. Can't wait.
Starscream_910
Is the Hungarian Grand Prix happening today? I haven't heard anything about it on the BBC or anything. Highlights on BBC. As post above said, it was a fantastic race. :-)
Choymz
I quite like the fact that Mercedes is breaking more often. And i also think that Rosberg is turning into a whiny little b*tch.
ddyoung
Had a nice long chat with one of my Mom's cousins today about F1 and cars in general. He just retired from Mercedes about two months ago as their chief mechanic in North America. It was so nice to talk to someone who understands the sport. Jimbatron
Sorry to get all political, but this beggars belief: http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-28656050 What exactly does this say? Bribery can land you in jail, unless you are able to pay the court an even bigger bribe?! Unbelievable. Sorry, it's more a comment on the justice system than F1 per say but short of creating a separate thread this seemed the only place to post it. David.
Well, Spa was funny. Merc keeps screwing up and Ricciardo is there to pick up the pieces. IMO, the whole thing looked like a racing incident, until Rosberg admitted to doing it on purpose. And then Lewis goes and tells the media "he did it to a prove a point", which is fair enough I guess. Lewis has a tendency to push Rosberg out of the track(Bahrain twice, Hungary in the dying laps). While legal, I wouldn't really call that proper racing etiquette. I guess Rosberg was tired of getting pushed and next time now Lewis will take care of where Rosberg is even if he's not a half car length alongside him. 4-Way Car battle in the end was awesome. Shame on Alonso for that 5 sec penalty for leaving mechanics on the grid. Raikkonen finally had a clean race and nearly podium. Bottas continues to impress. Rosberg on Bottas was the best move of the race for me. Will update the scores on first page soon! Starscream_910

Artruo
Looking forward to Suzuka anyone got predictions for qualifying? Edit.. Sebastian Vettel leaving Red Bull at the end of this season. Brown Sugar
Well apparently Alonso will be going to Mclaren so I don't think it looks good for Button, his contract ends this season and Magnussen has outperformed him this season. Kvyat is supposed to replace Vettel at Red Bull which I don't think is a very good move to be honest, Red Bull could probably get almost any other driver on the grid if they wanted. Artruo
Feel pretty sorry for JEV, he's been out qualifying kvyat and has more points but he still didnt get the red bull seat. Choymz
Im very concerned that the FIA is going to have a severe knee jerk reaction to what is a freak accident. Im really hoping that Jules can recover and get back racing again.
reform
Im very concerned that the FIA is going to have a severe knee jerk reaction to what is a freak accident. Yeah, I don't want to see a safety car every time a vehicle needs to be recovered or anything else drastic. I suppose the exception could be made in such wet conditions, but I'd rather stick with the double yellow flags, and just insist that tracks in future can facilitate vehicle recoveries from the other side of the barrier, as they often do with the cranes they tend to use most of the time. I think using the kind of recovery vehicle that they did today, in that perticular spot on the track, and in those conditions without a safety car was a bad call, and the commentary said the same thing at the time - and that was just when Sutil crashed which was a lap before Jules ultimately crashed at the same spot. Anyway, update: Jules is currently being operated on to treat a head injury, and the collision with the recovery vehicle has been confirmed. Doc Rikowski
Video of the crash. Quite horrible. Mark
After viewing that crash it's amazing he wasn't dead at the scene. This doesn't read well though: @andrewnbensonf1: What a diffuse axonal injury is http://t.co/wSk7L0IvQC About 90% of survivors with severe diffuse axonal injury remain unconscious. The 10% that regain consciousness are often severely impaired. Edited October 7, 2014 by Mark
Tchuck
Indeed, the video is horrific. He was lucky not to have been decapitated straight on with that hit. A little more to the left and that would be that. No reason for putting up that crane without the safety car, as others have said. However, I wonder how bad his injuries would have been if the crane wasn't there. Was he going faster than Sutil? And yeah, prognosis doesn't look good. Looks tough to go through a full recovery, and even so, he would probably end up like Massa, who hasn't been the same since his head injury.
