f*cking sh*tty end to the season yet again, but whatever. Alonso more than deserved to win the WC.

To be honest of you were a neutral like me and didn't mind who won the wc it was the best possible end, what an outstanding race that was. everything that could have happened did, best race for a long time in my opinion.

Very disappointed for Alonso. He deserved to win. Amazing race though. I was literally on the edge of my seat for most of it -- it was such high odds against Fernando getting enough points to win but at several stages it looked like he would.

When vettel made *yet another* dunderheaded move at the start and got tangled up with senna I thought he was out -- and I was praying that the red bull car would just break and stop during the race.... ah well.

I have a feeling red bull won't be able to win again next year.

Would've been nice to see Hulkenberg win one too. -- Once again, I'll say, I'm sure MaClaren will regret not choosing him over perez.

And I really hope that 10th spot that Petrov nailed for Caterham will mean that Heikki can stay in the team next year.

It was Senna's fault in the beginning and he didn't even admit it afterwards. It was him who turned around Vettel's car. A driver who has nothing to do with the championship should avoid risky situations like this to ensure he does not influnce the outcome of the championship.

Congratiulations Seb! You proved it even in the last race that you are the champion. icon14.gif

Yesterday's race was probably the best race of this season. There were a lot of interesting battles and thrilling moments plus unpredictable weather. It was even unpredictable when there were yellow flags. More than once I thought "OK, who has crashed or driven outside the track now?". Furthermore, the championship was pretty wide-open during the whole race and in the end Vettel became world champion with just 3 points!

I'm glad I don't have any favourite drivers or drivers I "hate" and therefore can fully enjoy the races. I've heard many people say that Vettel is not a worthy champion for example. Even when he had the collision with Bruno Senna on the first lap many people laughed on forums and said that he was out and so forth...

Just seen on the news. Sebastian vettel is under investigation for an illegal overtake in Brazil. If found guilty he will be docked 4 points and alonso will win the championship

Edit- seb appears to have overtaken vergne (however you spell it) under yellow flag conditions on lap 4. Would link to footage but am on my phone.

What all the media have forgotten is that before Vettel sheered out for overtaking Vergne, a track marshal on the left side of the track waved the green flag visible for him, followed later by signals on his steering wheel.

Yes but the sector was still under yellow flag conditions. The boards at the side of the road (controlled by race control) were still flashing yellow. I seen the footage and couldn't see a green flag anywhere.

FIA spokesman Charlie Whiting stated that Vettel did nothing wrong. They investigated the situation already during the race. There was really a marshall waving the green flag, even if it is not seen on every footage due to cutting. The green flag counts for the driver even if there was a screen before showing yellow.

Ah k thanks 4 clearing that Up! I woulda thought the boards were the thing to go off as they were controlled by race control. So the marshal f*cked up? Defiantly not vettels fault then.

Being a massive F1 fan I've gone and created an Android F1 app. Full of data on the history of F1.

I would really appreciate it if you could take a look and leave a good review if you like it. Here's the play store link.

So lotus, mclaren, ferrari and force india have all launced their 2013 cars. Doesn't seem to be much difference from last years cars except from the removal of those ugly stepped noses so i'm guessing the field will be much closer overall with ferrari and red bull having less time to develop their cars for this season. I can see much more teams getting podiums and perhaps wins this season.

And when is Force India going to announce their second driver? I wonder why they have been waiting for so long... Apparently, Jules Bianchi is the favourite for the seat.

I am glad to hear that Giedo van der Garde will drive for Caterham this season. He has driven well in different series under Formula 1 for several years now and has also tested for some F1 teams. He might not become a F1 superstar, but I think he is an interesting driver and it is not impossible that he can get some good results.

If Jules Bianchi gets the second Force India driver seat, we will have several F1 rookies this year.

I agree, kind of a boring race otherwise, and mclaren were sh*t.

At least it wasn't an even more boring Vettel pole to chequered flag win. Red Bull were great at one lap pace (qualifying) but not tyre conservation. The two stop strategy clinched it for Kimi.

Also, Hamilton's gamble seems to have paid off at the moment, Mercedes are much better than McLaren.

I thought it was a very good and entertaining race at Albert Park and it's probably great for the season that Red Bull didn't dominate during the first race weekend, although I think they will be quite strong this year too. Also good to see that Sutil had a nice comeback; he shouldn't have disappeared from F1 in the first place.

Excited for Malaysia, one of my favorite tracks since it's got a bit of everything (actually, not everything). Fast turns, a couple of long straghts, but then again, sector 3 of that track is utter sh*t if I must say.

How could it be your fav track if you dont like a large sector of the track? There must be a track out there that you like all the way around.

Yes, I may have exaggerated on that statement. Now that I think of it, there's a section of all tracks I dislike. But I do enjoy Interlagos, Yas Marina, Sepang, Monaco is always interesting, Austin is great.

I gained some respect from Albert Park last weekend, I usually really hated it. I find Hockenhelmring (spelled it wrong), Silverstone, Monza and Gilles Villeneuve uninteresting.

But none of these are 'perfect'. Guess Im just too picky. icon14.gif

You forgot Spa, who doesn't love that.

How could I have forgotten that? That is probably the track I love the most now that I think of it. It's just perfect... long straights, fast turns, multiple overtaking points. Aw God, I can't wait until Spa.

Spa would easily be my favourite, after the old Nürburgring. Monaco is up there as well. Albert Park is nicer when it's not set up for Formula One - the park and lake are one of the best in Melbourne, for sure. Although it's a "street circuit", the speed limit is 40km/h and police are all over the area catching people in an F1 kind of mood (a few months back when I was lying down on a sunny day in the park, I saw three cars being pulled over by the one police car in the space of 30 minutes... Hamilton that unlucky bastard biggrin.gif).

Even after they set up the stands and the track for the GP over the past month, they opened up the circuit for normal public use after 6pm every day, so a few weeks back I drove around as if I was actually driving along on track day - my Volkswagen set a whopping fastest lap time of 10 minutes; I would've gone quicker but I didn't want to show any of the drivers up. tounge.gif

Gilles Villeneuve is nice, as well, as is Hungary. I always had a lot of fun with both in F1 video games.

Haha, that must've been fun. 10 minutes is a good start... your tyres probably weren't at optimal temperature, otherwise a 1:56 would've been possible. tounge.gif

Glad Massa is in the front row, been a while. Hopefully Ferrari will keep going the way they're going and this season may get interesting. I hope Vettel doesn't take a huge lead in the first few laps and win it start to finish.

So Vettal has apologised for going against Team Orders dontgetit.gif

I maybe missed out on something here, but aren't Team Orders banned unless it's near the end of the season and the other team mate has no chance of the title. Unless this has been changed... stupidly, then why did Vettal have to apologise?

I think this will be Red Bull year again. Can't see any of Ferrari, Mercedes or Lotus to challenge them.
