That's actually the regular livery of Emil Frey Racing. They also race in the DTM with a similar livery. It also has Verstappen.com written all over it. ;)

Do they run Ferraris as well in DTM? I'd be reluctant to do that after what happened to Liam Lawson in 2021.

I am sure that on the weekend if everyone knew Max was suiting up, there would be way way way too many people for the event to safely manage.

Yes, exactly

Ferrari is getting worse.

Oscar is getting better.

Right on both counts.

For Fez to have such a result at this track, just miles from their spiritual home, is going to crush the entire team, the Tifosi and the drivers. I didn't expect them to be challenging for pole, but to have both cars knocked out in Q2 is a disaster. But the grid is a now quite a spicy one, and how good must it feel for Aston martin to get both cars in to Q3. Their upgrades seemed to have worked.

I didn't watch it my self (was doing stuff before the FA Cup final) but looking at the timings AM definitely have had a bump, hopefully it translates into race pace. Williams continuing to do very well, especially enjoying Sainz showing everyone what he's about. Thought he was great at Ferrari, super happy to see this move work out so far for him.

It must feel good for him, on a personal level, after he was unceremoniously jettisoned from the team, and to have outqualified both the man who took his seat, plus Leclerc's Ferrari, in a Williams! How could he not take a lot of satisfaction from that? At the moment it's looking like he actually dodged a bullet here. Unreal. Long season, yeah, so things might flip. But right now, today, Sainz must be feeling quite smug indeed.

Colapinto did alright last season but the hype behind him feels very artificial. I get Argentinian's wanting a driver in F1, that's great, but yea I dunno. Never feels good to watch when you know a driver isn't quite deserving of their seat.

I do respect giving chances to rookies, it's important that happens, but there's a few drivers on the grid right now who I would question if they're good enough. Can't know it w/o trying them of course but yea, I wouldn't be surprised to see more driver changes in the coming months.

I love what Williams are doing above all tbh, two really good drivers and their house in order and we're seeing the benefit from that. Meanwhile Aston, no matter what they do, will always be sandbagged as long as Stroll is there I feel. He's gotten better but for how long he's been in F1 now... well, if his dad didn't own it he would have left F1 years ago.

In the end things worked out great for Carlos Sainz lol. Everyone last year was thinking he would have to resign himself to be a backmarker.

One has to wonder if Lewis will honor his contract, the man simply isn't there anymore. It's so sad to see him perform so poorly after so many years of excellence from his part.

Hamilton's still got a race in him now and then, we saw it last year, but the consistency is long gone and his qualifying is by his own account is terrible nowadays. But even today Leclerc is down there too, the car is just getting worse.

But yea while him getting an 8th, winning a WDC with Ferrari etc would've been great to see for the sport I just don't see it. This season is a write off, McLaren have two better drivers and Merc and RB won't touch him so his only hope is that Ferrari have a worldy in the first season for the new regs, which is a mighty fine bit of hopium.

He may see out a first season with the new regs and see how it does but if he's not competitive I wouldn't be surprised if he called it there, he's got a lot of other things going on his life these days and he's sacrificed a lot for F1 for the past 20 years or so.

Trash driver with a trash boss and even trashier fans. Makes me want to emigrate so badly. 😭

The only negative I can say for Cola right now is not exactly his fault in the fans.

F1 social media is a tire fire at best of times but the completely unhinged carryon from the Cola fans needs to be addressed, and that would be his responsibility.

Decent turn around for Ferrari for sure.

Max winning is a spanner in the works for the WDC, maybe we'll get a three way duel and not a twoway? More the merrier I say.

That was an interesting call pitting Oscar into traffic, considering they had to know the initial graining on the mediums could go away like it did for Lando and Max.

Max was truly blessed today, he took the race by the scruff of the neck in the first chicane and was rewarded with the timing of the VSC. The FIA tried to concoct something by bringing out the safety car for laughs but that never transpired.

I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of overtakes. I'll take what I can get because it won't be happening next weekend.

The catch with Max is that he doesn't need the best car to win the WDC but Oscar and Lando, right now, do.

So if the RB is able to at the very least stay close to the McLaren's then the title fight is on.

I know Max can surprise due to his abilities, but I'm not entirely convinced he can compete for the Championship. I have serious doubts that his car can compete. The occasional race win does not prove to me he can compete.

Fez really turned it around, and congrats to the team. That is not where they want to finish, but after quali, this was a great result.

Max showed supreme confidence on the brakes in Tamburello. When Oscar wins his first title, and maybe this year, he will have Max to thank for all of the lessons.

Yeah, I think I agree. Over the course of Red Bull's dominance the past few years they were fast everywhere, all types of circuits but especially good on high-speed tracks with fast corners. Until yesterday, this season they were only competitive on high-speed circuits, or in cool conditions. But Imola showed they are making gains on a different sort of track, and that's a good sign for them. Now to Monaco which is an outlier, really. But if they can be competitive in quali there, it will look like the fight is on for the immediate future.

Monaco is all about the Saturday, the Sunday is always terrible, with it always needing bad weather or safety cars to force impromptu pitstops.

Given his past at Monaco I wouldn't be shocked if Max pulled a worldy lap out and got pole.

This year there's the mandatory two stops, so who knows... I don't want to see Monaco leave the calendar though. Nothing says "DtS fan" like asking for Monaco to be removed IMHO.

F1 is part spectacle and part sport and maintaining the right balance between those two is vital to the sports health, which is the core of why I don't like street circuits my self as most of them don't get the balance right. Many of them are terrible for racing and Monaco is the extreme example, it's basically 90%+ spectacle these days cause of how big the cars are. In recent years we've had some hilariously bad moments like one driver holding up a pack of several drivers just by intentionally driving slow. It's not just the lack of over takes either for me, it's the narrow, walled circuits that just make for bad TV viewing as well.

That said Monaco is at least massively historic and has a huge legacy, so I can just about forgive it. I'd be more than fine w/ it if we had more actual tracks on the calendar but with the way F1 is going we're getting less and less it feels like.

Hopefully with Audi coming to F1 we can at least possibly get the German GP back at Nurburgring or Hockenheimring.

I'd love to see the Nurburgring come back but I think those days are gone sadly.

A lot better from Ferrari today but whether or not that means anything tomorrow we'll see, the two stop could change things especially if there's a safety car.

And yea you could tell Max was giving it the beans in Q3 but the car just didn't have enough today.

They might be able to get away with alternating between the two like they did for a while.

Nurburgring would definitely be the pick between them, but I remember they were in some financial straits not long ago.

Yea the money just isn't there I don't think. Plus F1 has no interest in dropping a high paying track to bring the Nurburgring back into the calendar.

It's a real shame cause it's such an iconic track, one of the most memorable first corners in all of racing IMO.

This has the making of one of the worst dry Formula 1 races in a very long time. :kekw:

The mandatory two pit stop strategy has been a disaster.
