Im going for Massa on this race.

Wow you can sure pick them !!GameCH33TA!! lol.

What a great race though, reminded me alot of Monaco were you had no clue what was gonna happen next. But if you were scepticle about Lewis before this race surely you cant be now.

Ferraris were well not good especially Massa spinning 5 times. They made a huge mistake with keeping Kimi on the same tires after the firsat stop.

And one more thing well done to Rubens were the hell did that performance come from.

Was a good race, Hamilton was pretty awesome.

He was so fast on the intermediates, 10 seconds faster than the others. Hes a great rain driver.

I still think his previous mistakes will come back and bite him in the arse tho.

Talented but still a rookie, that be Lewis.

Great race, gotta love rainy races, always sorts the men from the boys in the field. Apart from that little off when it started pouring down, I don't think Lewis put a foot wrong. Hell, even though he went off, great catch of the spin still.

I think Felipe spent more time off the track than on it today lol. Reminds me of the 1st race of the season, 1st lap 1st corner, straight off.

48 points a piece for Kimi, Felipe and Lewis, with Kubica on 46...talk about close!

Absolutely, He's talented, thats fo sure, and so he is a rookie one. Nice to see winning on his home grand prix.He would be thrilled. i Think he becames the world's most happiest person after winning any race.

Bad luck for Webber, i was hoping him on the Podium, but he spun out.confused.gif

Oh, Ya, the Championship tables are turned now, 48,48,48,46 sh*t.

Good to see, Barrichello on the 3rd, he said, that he dedicates this places to his kids. What a nice guy.

Absolutely cracker of a race; I would have watched it in its entirety had it not been for the Wimbledon final. What the hell happened to Massa? Did he start from the back of the grid or something?

Glad to see Nick on the podium; each time he's getting closer and closer to that elusive first victory. colgate.gif

No Massa started 9th on the grid but within a few laps he spun it. And kept doing the same all way through the race (5 times or maybe more) which is why he was at the back for 98% of the race.

Look mate, I didn't know! I swear! I apologise it, because like you you know how I hate having my name mispelled, or anyone's names to be mispelt. Like I said, I swear I didn't know that I had to get every character right, so I just posted it phonetically! colgate.gif

Oh, and he's being sarcastic because you picked Massa. But anyway, no harm done, everyone has a bad pick once in a while.

No sh*t, i know he was being sarcastic because i had a terrible pick so i was simply joking around but it is hard to type it out the way i wanted it to be said and the tone i wanted it to be said in.

Also, if you 'knew' that you hated your name mispelled, why would you continue to deliberatly mispell my name?

It isn't as though you dont know how to correctly spell it, it is all over the forums.

In Polish, 'Kubicza' would be pronounced 'Kubicha', while 'Kubica' would be played 'Kubitsa'. I didn't know what you were trying to post there, Seddo. Apologies. tounge.gif

@!!GameCH33TA!!: Like I said previously, my apologies. It was an accident! I honestly thought you didn't mind because it was phonetic, but I was wrong. I mean, I spelt your name right now, didn't I? confused.gif

Players that are on the brink of retirement:

David Coulthard(Announced)

Giancarlo Fisichella

Rubens Barrichello

Heard a rumour that Raikkonen was going to retire at the end of this year, but he said it by himself that he wont.

Kimi Raikkonen has dismissed rumours that he will be quitting Ferrari and Formula One at the end of this year.

The Finn is contracted to Ferrari until the end of 2009, often hinting that this current deal could be his last with the Scuderia and in fact his last with any F1 team.

However, recent comments by the World Champion suggesting that he's unhappy in F1 sparked rumours that he could quit soon.

"I like the racing but the other stuff is not always the best thing," he said last month.

"Everyone in F1 is here because they love racing and driving, but when there are too many things that you don't enjoy or too many things you don't want it is time to go away."

Raikkonen, though, has been quick to silence reports of his pending retirement, stating that he will see out his current Ferrari contract.

"I have not broken a contract in all my life, and I have no intention of doing so now. In 2009 I will be driving for Ferrari," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Thats probably the worst rumor ive heard about F1 in a while. I just find it hard that someone like Kimi would leave a team still under contract, when for the next year he has a great chance of being a World Champion again.

Kimi's said he'd like to spend his last days at Ferrari. I've heard rumours of him retiring at the end of next season, but certainly not at the end of this season.

Kimi's the kinda driver who when he's not driving does what he wants to do, not what he's told to do. Whereas Lewis Hamilton etc go off on advertising campaigns, meet celebs etc, Kimi does what he wants. I respect him for that, that's for sure.

Though as a result, I suppose if Kimi doesn't like F1, who's to say that if Ferrari don't renew in contract for 2010, that he won't just retire?

As for Rubens, he's stated many times that he still loves the racing and has no intention of retiring yet, even if he is the most experienced (and after the end of the season when DC retires, the oldest) person in F1. Yet again though, it's down to contract renewal. He's still an excellent driver though, certainly worthy of his spot in Honda.

Still, it's all speculation. Mid-season always brings up speculation as to where everyone will be next year as it's the time of year where a lot of the under-performing (or in BMWs case, over-performing) teams look to next year. Certainly this year with 2009 being a totally different season technically (less aero, more mechanical grip due to reintroduction of slicks) it's a good opportunity for a lot of the teams to forget 2008 and focus on a strong challenge for 2009 considering everyone's starting off with a comparatively clean slate. As a result, when a team looks to 2009 it also needs to consider it's driver roster, hence the rumours.

I mean, for f*cks sake, there was talk of Lewis leaving at the end of 2007 cause he was fed up with all the controversy.

Hey Mark, if Kimi decides to retire next season, who do you think will replace him for 2010? I realise it's a bit far away to predict where he'll go, but considering that the driver line-ups remain the same next year, who do you think will replace him?

Personally, I think that Robert Kubica will be asked to fill the role. He's young and he's growing as a driver, and then BMW will be able to fire up another young recruit to partner Nick.

I think there are two options and Kubica isnt one. Theres been rumors since Alonso left Mclaren that he may go to Ferrari one day. But the move that i think will happen is Vettel going to Ferrari. Vettel is in the Toro Rosso at the moment and Ferrari supply there engines so there is already a connection there. Also Schumacher connections for Vettel, will work well. So i do believe if anyone is going to end up at Ferrai one day it will be Vettel.

Oh OK then. But don't forget that that has nothing to do with a Ferrari relationship; Mika Hakkinen mike be friends with Kimi, but that doesn't mean he's going to McLaren again. tounge.gif

Hamilton looked good in both practice sessions, in both raining and dry conditions. He's my favourite for the race as long as he does well in qualifying.

Considering how Hamilton was fastest in practice session 2 by 7 tenths, I like his chances for qualifying. As for the race, I like both Ferrari's along with Hamilton, but if it's wet (which according to the forecast looks possible) Hamilton will most likely dominate much like he did at Silverstone.

The Ferraris looked remarkably stronger than in previous rounds; Kimi only finished third, and did very well. Webber also did great, but that doesn't mean he'll necessarily take that form over to qualifying.

And Sebastian Vettel is the replacement for David Coulthard next year. So, Hodgey1989... I guess your prediction was incorrect. tounge.gif

Sebastian Vettel to join Red Bull for 2009

Red Bull confirmed on Thursday that Sebastian Vettel will join their line-up from sister team Toro Rosso for the 2009 season. Vettel will replace the retiring David Coulthard and race alongside incumbent driver Mark Webber.

“I am very proud to be joining Red Bull Racing and it’s always good to have an early decision on what you are doing next year,” said the 21 year-old German following the announcement. “As a driver your target is always to be with the most competitive team possible and, over the past couple of years, Red Bull Racing has proved it has great potential, so this is a good move for me.

"I have been part of the Red Bull family for a long time, with its Junior Team since 2000. Throughout my career, they have offered me great support and now, to drive for their senior F1 team is a dream come true and I am looking forward to having a great season next year, even if I still have a lot to learn about F1. Apart from Red Bull, I must also say a big thank you to Scuderia Toro Rosso, where I feel very much at home.

“They have been my “family” for over a year and I would like to thank Franz (Tost) and Gerhard (Berger) for the opportunity they gave me and thank the entire team for all their efforts. Having got this announcement out of the way, I can concentrate on racing for Toro Rosso over the second half of the season. I will try and repay them by doing my very best to get some more good results, to add to those we have achieved so far.”

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner added: “We are delighted that Sebastian will be joining us next year. With David Coulthard announcing his retirement as a Formula One driver a fortnight ago at the British Grand Prix, after careful consideration, it seemed natural to announce his replacement here at Sebastian’s home race in Hockenheim. As he was already part of the Red Bull family, choosing Sebastian as Mark Webber’s team mate was not a difficult decision.

“However, we have always stated that our aim is to have the strongest available driver line-up and Vettel’s selection also matches these criteria. Having only turned 21 at the last race and with only 17 Grand Prix starts to his name, he is still on a learning curve, but it is clear that he has plenty of ability and speed. We are confident that Red Bull Racing will make the most of these attributes and believe that, in Mark and Sebastian, we have a very competitive driver line-up for 2009.”

Vettel made his Formula One race debut for BMW Sauber in 2007, standing in for an injured Robert Kubica at the United States Grand Prix. He subsequently joined Toro Rosso partway through last year and is currently competing in his first full F1 season. From 17 Grand Prix starts he has scored 11 points and enjoyed his best race result at last year’s Chinese event, finishing fourth.

Toro Rosso have yet to announce who will replace Vettel in their line-up next season.

As a replacement, he finished fourth. Robert Kubica, as a replacement, finished 3rd. He's still young, so he has a long way to go, but I seriously see this guy going places. icon14.gif

Without question a great talent, but next German Champion will be Nico Rosberg. I dont see Vettel winning the championship within the next 5 years. The next years will be a battle between Hamilton and Rosberg i think.
