You may want to download IPL Helper and start over, this code is whacked. The vehicle coordinates are completely useless. The coding format for custom plates isn't correct - you can't add custom plates with IPL files anyway, and I think there's only room for 3 new plates on a standard game anyway. It looks like you are just getting started on this type of modification so I'm not trying to be harsh. I'm suggesting a fresh start on the vehicles. This time use IPL Helper if you want to ask questions in the IPL Helper topic. If you want to go the mission coding route which offers more control for more effort then hit up the tutorial section again. Whatever you are working from now appears to be out of date. A note on IPL placement: I've recently stopped storing my custom IPLs in the data\maps folder and am recommending this strategy when I suggest IPL modifications. My reasoning is that it is very easy to corrupt the standard IPL files and prevent the game from functioning normally. It is a good idea to make a backup of everything in the maps folder before beginning any modifications. If custom IPLs are stored in the maps folder then it becomes more difficult to restore the default IPLs and maintain the custom files. I make lots of modifications to the standard IPLs, and frequently need to swap different map folders in and out in order to maintain compatibility with various save configurations. Moving my custom IPLs out of the maps folder makes these changes much easier. Currently I keep my custom IPLs in DATA\chain\, but this folder is specific to Chain Game modifications. I would suggest a more generic folder name, perhaps DATA\IPL\ so the folder is sorted between ICONS and MAPS. Placement of custom IPL files in GTA.DAT: It is very important that all new enex connections be placed after all standard enex connections. For this reason alone I recommend referencing all custom IPLs after the default IPLs, but for the most part if doesn't matter for other types of IPL additions. There are only 3 or 4 IPL pickups, so it doesn't help or hurt to sneak new pickups in before the defaults, most of the pickups will be added later when the mission script kicks in. There are no text IPL vehicles or jumps, IPL placements are added before scm placements. Garage modifications should not be made in custom IPLs; only 50 garages max and all are used, so a new garage either won't work or will disable a standard garage. I suspect the program will work if allowed to detect the 2.0 SP1 Framework since backwards compatibility is usually maintained. Never mind, the link posted a few message up is working. The link on the 1st post is different but links to the same filename. Oops, I just noticed that the arrow points east when is should be pointing west on the Vehicle Placer tool. However, when the desired angle is entered, the program properly translates the degrees into radian units and the vehicle is placed properly- so the problem is just the little helper arrow. I am confused by the door and alarm settings used by the Vehicle Placer tool. I am expecting to set an alarm or door lock probability between 0 (0%) and 100 (100%). On = 1, Off = 0, and Random = 255 doesn't seem to fit the examples from the import/export vehicles, SF planes, or combines. I was not able to figure out how the angles were encoded using a different tool; perhaps IPL Helper will provide better results. However, all cars examined so far have door and alarm values of 0, so I must resort to another example; mission coding. Since I can compare the vehicle generator records in the save file created by mission coding and text IPL files, I am sure that the door and alarm settings are the same using either method. The numbers entered in the appropriate field are copied directly to the save. 100% probability the door will be locked - all combines, the early planes in SF, GF cars before 50% progress. Each has a door lock probability of 100. xmen Posted April 14, 2008 Author Share Posted April 14, 2008 (edited) i checked some binary files, and found the rotation that have character is crashing the tool (eg. 1.19209E-07, 7.549789E-08 etc) and i found that all binary ipls i have checked, had 0 values for door and alarm, i didnt found value between 0-100, neither 255, i think mission coding and ipl using different methods for spawing cars... Edited : but when i spawn a admiral behind the cj when a new game start, i got a locked car with this line 2226.35, -1260.15, 23.91, 0.00, 445, -1, -1, 1, 100, 100, -1, -1 then i added 2 more cars lines : 2216.35, -1260.15, 23.91, 0.00, 445, -1, -1, 1, 101, 0, -1, -12206.35, -1260.15, 23.91, 0.00, 445, -1, -1, 1, 0, 101, -1, -1 and found that more than 100 is not crashing the game, so now i will have to fix IPL Helper Edited April 14, 2008 by xmen Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Enex connections are confusing by nature, and some functions have not been fully identified. I have a fairly good understanding of how to edit my enex connections and have considered offering suggestions for improvement. However, the tool seems fully functional, the problem appears to be lack of documentation - and not just for the Enex Placer tool, but for enex connections in general, anywhere. IDs such as "SVSFMD" must be used in the IPL line, but it would definitely help if the user could select from a list of named places if the Enex Placer could insert the proper ID - like for the vehicles. I am unaware of a complete list with common names for all 376 standard enex connections. I have a list I've been filling in as I work on various connections. Perhaps this list could be cleaned up and rounded out for this purpose. xmen Posted April 15, 2008 Author Share Posted April 15, 2008 (edited) add more car spawns. it has some removed vehicles but some of the others are left out there is a drop down button named "Add New Vehicle" with "Add Line" button, by this you can add your own vehicles you have added in game, just write car id and car name and press OK, then you will see your vehicle will be in the list, this vehicle info will be saved in "info_valut.xml" so when you use new version you will need to copy paste that file, but i recommended that you should add again since it may possible that i have changed something in info_vault.... i hope it will help your timer thing at the start is annoying! There needs to be a method to enter custom names as required. A drop down list of 376 standard connections plus additional custom IDs might be difficult to navigate, but I like the general idea. I prefer a method that allows the user full control with minimal error checking. Increase support documentation as required.
