If I'am wright, your graphic card is the problem, only GeForce 6*** and more powerfull, only with these GF graphic card's mod works. Here you are - http://boris-vorontsov.narod.ru/doc_en.htm

Is it possible to make water use two textures, one for surface and one beyond the surface? Or can someone explain how the new water uses those textures and their alpha's in particles.txd to make it easier to add custom textures and make new water use them? Thanks.

 

Edit: here is a picture of surface texture i managed to get new water use for "wave" like effect, but it also needs

some texture under it so the water would not look like "jelly" when looked upon, but how to do that, suggestions?

Lil'Q, try editing Bloom value from text file (don't remember excact name of it).

You know, on first screenshot the car makes half of the image to be almost black, the sky mixing with car by brightness and reslut brightness of this image is 0.55 (just measured in Photoshop). If by default BloomScreenLevelDay is equal to 60 %, then you have bloom amount almost as BloomPowerDay value + BloomConstantDay. The second image is much brighter, higher than BloomScreenLevelDay, so parameters BloomAdaptationScreenLevel and BloomAdaptationMultiplier active and decrease bloom amount. You can make lower BloomScreenLevelDay and BloomAdaptationScreenLevel parameters (for example 45 and 70). May be partialy BloomConstantDay may be helpful, try to increase it and at the same time decrease BloomPowerDay.

 

To numena:

In current version of water effect alpha channel of texture is used for elliminating some problems with waves from boats, if you will do alpha transparencity, water will be almost fully transparent (don't use it now). By texture itself, red color channel is used for generating waves, but color of water as RGB is not used at all, only refraction texture displayed. So all you can do at this moment is to make another waves, just replace water texture with your one without alpha channel. Work in progress.

 

To katsumotoo:

Try new version F that works shaders 1_4, or from presets in download section use some low quality from GF6100 or Radeon 9500 folder, set BugFixMode=5. Do not use antialiasing/multisampling in driver control panel or in game video options.

Lol. Tested it with my Fx5600. Just Crashed sad.gif . Hopefully some other people with low end cards work with it smile.gif

 

EDIT:

Every time i went close to a car it would freeze. So I disabled reflections. Lol. Then checked the water, and it looked like this lol.gif

ok. I tryed to change the setting, and nothing helped me, only the BloomConstantDay helped a bit, but not exactly what I wanted. And, I mentioned 1 thing, when I set resolution to 1024x768x32 bloom is not working, but when I set 1280x1024x32 the bloom works perfect. confused.gif

And Boris, i've seen the screens on you website, how do you get those effects in SA ? Do you have your own perfect setting, or it is something else ? turn.gif

About different resolutions i don't have too much ideas, may be it's because of changing 3d setting in the game? Did you tried reenter game again after changing resolution, is it matters? As for memory problem (out of memory), bloom is almost free and on the contrary higher resolutions would be problem. May be it's driver specific, not support mipmap generation on 1024*768 textures, strange thing. What drivers version do you use (sorry if i'm asking again, don't remember anything)?

Guess i need another parameters for bloom configuration to elliminate your problems.

My screens is high quality presets of everything, including ambient occlusions. No palettes, on some screenshots depth of field also. You know, it's all about color correction and when to capture screenshots, of course ssao greatly improve quality.

 

To rdbx1234:

I hope your drivers are lower than 169.xx? Did you tried another versions even for different games?
