Darkshade12
Has Anybody Played This Game, Hardly Anybody Does Because They Don't Know What It Is. Here Is Some Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus_Ex There Was Also Deus Ex 2 But It Wasn't As good as the original. If You Have Not Got It I RECOMMEND it to anybody who likes First Person Shooters/RPG Games Its Pretty Cheap These Days And I Just Finshed It Today. It Has Probably The Best Story Ever Too. Jevon
Is There Any Reason You Feel The Need To Capitalise The First Character Of Every Word? Because it's incredibly bloody annoying, and makes your post much more effort to read. As to the point of the topic, yes, I've played through Deus Ex many times, and would probably rate it as my favourite game; the story and "world" they set up is fantastic. Just a shame they butchered it with Invisible War (though on its own it would stand as a reasonably good game). I heard rumours of a Deus Ex 3 by (I think) some of the original team a few months ago, but I'm not holding my breath. It's worth exploring all the levels completely (and hacking computers) - there's so many clever sub-plots and whatnot. "Face Your Fears, Live Your Dreams" - No Fear"God was a dream of good government." - Deus Ex Machina "I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." - Stephen Roberts

Well, in Germany, every substantive(spelling) word, is actually spelled with a capital...
darthYENIK
I played invisible war. It was ok. But once you get the right powers, it's too easy.
Ronmar The Only
Deus Ex was very sweet...great story though I took time of multiple times which caused it a bit hard to remember it all. I will probably buy it over the summer for the computer and play it along with two and Project Snowblind after GTA. Also, cannot wait for 3 which some have stated might be a prequel. Maybe see the virus first conceived and everything. Visit Writers' Discussion Compilation of Works: From a Storyteller
Jevon
Well, in Germany, every substantive(spelling) word, is actually spelled with a capital... You do? Admittedly I only did German to GCSE level (and then a module at Uni 5 years later) but I've never heard that before. Point still stands though, it's much harder to read. No rumor on Deus Ex 3. It's quite real Truth. Good good, I think a prequel would *probably* work quite well. That or basically ignoring IW and pretending it never happened, as imho it destroyed any real chance of a decent follow on. TheDude5000
Is this like a good dark futuristic sci-fi game? I'm looking for that sort of game, because I just completed one of them (Apocalypse on PS1) and I really like this genre.

Yeah, it's an RPG-FPS effectively, you have various skills and biomods you can apply to yourself, and a fixed size inventory (though you can still carry a fair amount of stuff). There's a demo available which is basically the first map/level of the game. GTA3Freak-2001
I have to admit I tried to really love it what with the praise the gaming community gives it but I can never seem to really enjoy it. I've got the game but never really could get past the first level, I admit this is going back quite a few years when my tastes in games was more simple minded. I might give it a go again, just have to get over the dated graphics, when you are used to playing Crysis you'll know what I mean.
darthYENIK
I remember the biggest problem I had with Invisible war on Xbox, was the load times. They were killer.

Its Pretty Good I Play The Multiplayer But You Need To Have The Internet On At The Same Time For Multiplayer. Here Is The Patch If You Have not got it. http://www.download.com/Deus-Ex-multiplaye...4-10236312.html Edited February 28, 2008 by Darkshade12
TheDude5000
It's GOTY edition, and I saw a multiplayer option, so it's probably there. Anyway now I'm on the one where they raid this warehouse. It's really cool killing or knocking out the kid named Josh at the beginning, then taking his body and just dumping it in the river. And also just going on a killing spree against the civilians is fun too. I hope to eventually actually play the mission itself and stop f*cking around. K^2
Deus Ex was the most impressive result of deviating from pure FPS genre at the time of the release. It still is a very important game in history of gaming. There are plenty of games out now that are better at just about everything that Deus Ex pioneered, but none of them have that feel. Anyone who played it will know what I mean. An amazing game, and everyone who's fan of GTA should like some of the open-world aspects, so I strongly recommend it. And you might as well try Invisible War as well. It is not as great, but it isn't all that long either, so it's worth the time.
