Iminicus Posted November 23, 2008 Share Posted November 23, 2008 So, I finished GoW2 today, on normal mind you. Was such a fantastic experience. I love the art style of the Gears games. People have been complaining about the lack of colors, but I don't see the need for them, honestly. It needs to be dark and gritty. f*ck, they have been fighting the Locust for 15 years and before that they had the Pendulum Wars for 94 years. Can't really expect a people to be cheery and colorful after such long periods of war. Anyway, great game. I thought the Dom subplot was okay. Annoying as f*ck in some parts and the writing for him seemed forced most of the time, mainly the beginning when he is seeking confirmation about her from Anya. I will admit the that what happens to Dom and the way he handles it; that was sad and touching. I loved the ending. Definitely more satisfying than GoW and even Halo 2's cliffhanger. Wonder how Epic are going to go with the ending, I'm hoping they don't do a cliched 'good guys beat bad guys and everything goes back to normal.' Gotta agree with you on the Dom part though, at first I simply couldn't connect, but as the story went on I felt obliged to care for his struggle to find his wife. Master of Pain. Posted November 23, 2008 Share Posted November 23, 2008 I have beaten GOW1 on insane, but that was co-op. I remember trying it on Insane by myself and struggling a ton, but I'm much better since then at shooters in general so who knows. I've beaten a couple of acts on Insane already in co-op for GOW2 including the only real boss fight against Skorge, it wasn't too bad. I still have to do the rest in co-op, but I don't know exactly which ones I have to finish. Is there any way to tell? Is there any souloutions? Re-do training the rook where you take Carmine. I didn't get the achievement but then did the training at the start of the game on co op and then got it. Yeah same happened to me. Saw this on another site and it worked. Just start up another game and train the rook. Thank god because I thought I had to play through it a third time. I was thinking that aswell, the good ol' good guys and bad guys team up to destroy the Superior enemy storyline. Anyway i've been going through the game again and i'm up to the beginning of act 4. I'd assume the 720 (Or whatever it's gonna be called) wouldn't be out until 2011, Which leaves time for Gears 3 to arrive in 2010 and leave it's footprint as one of the last great 360 games. Way before the original Gears, Imulsion emerged as the new energy source, seemingly endless in quantity. Of course, everyone wanted this, which caused conflict, and humans battled out for control of this for 94 years. Upon that time, the Locust arrived, and humanity had to put aside their differences to fight against the new common enemy. 15 years later you have Gears and Gears 2 (Which are seperated by about 5-6 months). Vanzant Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 Got to play this Online over the Weekend. I don't know anything about the Story really nor have I played Gears the Original. I played "Wingman" with my buddy Online and My First thought of entering the game was how I was going to get my friend laid in some Xbox360 game, the term Wingman really belongs to World War pilots or buddies trying to get chicks. It seems they used Ammo from Halo which makes the Assault Rifle useless unless your opponent will diligently stand there to take every bullet in the clip to die. The real fun is just rolling forward with the damned gun to hit B and Saw them to death, unless you have the Shotgun ready to Hit them in the face in One shot. Felt alot Like Halo without the Jumping around. It was decent fun and I'm going to check out the Story mode soon. I know people will disagree, but there's NO skill needed online, the Rocket gun is your best bet other than that the Saw or Shotgun is your only real friends. Glad there is no host advantage sh*t anymore, that really sucked in GoW1. I completely raped last night on Execution on Blood Drive. I had 17 kills and 2 deaths. It was 5 v 5 but 3 droppd out, 2 being from my team. I am really bored of Blood Drive though, I played it about 6 times in a row at one point. I wouldn't mind a few games this weekend Luke, I just hope you don't mind that due to me living in Australia, the lag will only be worsened.
