Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
Damn, I have this game and I have still yet to play it. Fallout 3 is drawing all my attention at the moment. But I might finally start just to get the satisfaction of chainsawing someone to gory bits.
Abel.
They broke the f*cking matchmaking again. No problem elanman, heck, the first game doesn't make that much sense on the 360 (PC version clears some stuff up). I tried to play co-op with my 360 owning friend to no avail (on GoW: 1). Vanillainy
f*ck the chainsaw man. When someone is running at you with the chainsaw and you get a shotgun shot off on them, they can just keep runnig straight at you and split you in two. It doesn't make them drop the chainsaw for a few seconds or slow them down. What a load of sh*t. Do love the game though other than the lag. That's for sure, I haven't played a single MP game where I've chainsawed someone other than a game of Annex where I was just chainsawing everyone who'd try to get me out of the area. You wanna play a game tonight?

Seddo
f*cking hell, extra gameplay as well!? Yeah. And the small matter of fighting and killing a Brumak I think it's just to clear up the storyline on how you got to the train from Marcus' house. Here's some videos of the extra act... 1. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=h5JuSkh6AEU 2. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-va9TyGrzKM&feature=related 3. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=137wFQPSKfc&feature=related 4. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dK8F22_2tCY&feature=related I've never played the PC version though so i don't know what it clears up via the extra act. How so...? x2. I thought Gears 1 on PC just added an extra act in between act 4 and 5 of the 360 version. It just tells you a bit about the Lightmass Bomb, the Train, and why the Locust are on the train with the Lightmass Bomb. Apparently that part was unfinished near the time of release on 360, so they cut it and later re-instated it into the PC version. papanesta, was that Achievement reference on purpose? papanesta
papanesta, was that Achievement reference on purpose? I say that all the time, but that is pretty funny. @Oblivionz, I got distracted by those amazing NYC billboards! I'm f*cking going to New York on Monday! But it says they're getting removed at the end of November. I so hope they're still there.
Blackadder.
Midway proving their ignorance. Of course a game released in 2010 is going to look better than a game released 2 years earlier. Midway needs to get it's head out of it's ass, after what they think of The Wheelman I can guarantee this title will be absolute sh*t.

nlitement
Finished it today. Hmm.. I have to say the levels could be a little more "peaceful" like in GoW, I liked the battles more in GoW because it felt like the game was playing for me a lot of the time in those "sequences" in 2, however I certainly appreciate the more engaging and longer story mode. Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
Yeah, I finally got around to playing this game a few days ago. I'm enjoying it, classic Gears testosterone-fueled action. This is like the guy movie of video games. Really. However, if the game is going where I think, I'm almost done? It feels really short, and the only difficulty I've had was facing that huge fish creature in the Locust caves, took me a lot of f*cking tries. Right now I'm advancing on the Locust "palace", searching for the queen. Don't tell me I'm almost finished, because that was a pretty short ride. And I'm playing at the hardest difficulty available at the first playthrough. Oh, what exactly happened to Maria, that she just turned decrepit? Ludo
Oh, what exactly happened to Maria, that she just turned decrepit? A simply heart wrenching moment Nothing really happened to her(well, aside from the Locust torturing her), just that Dom could only see her as she was I guess...mental shock or some sh*t

You've got all of act 5 to playthrough aswell, with some interesting gameplay coming your way. I've been playing insane aswell and i've just got upto the Skorge battle. Seddo
Well she look pretty human, but she's all grey, then she's got this thing covering her back and going over her head which sort of looks like tree bark. Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
I beat the game last night, and was mostly satisfied. I'm pretty bummed that the game was so short, and seeing as I don't have Live, that's pretty much it for GoW2 in my collection. Now for it to collect dust. And the final cutscene was awfully short, geez. I'm not asking for an hour and a half Metal Gear Solid cutscene, but it was as if the game was in a rush to finish. The cutscene was like 2 minutes long. Also, is there a romantic thing between Marcus and Anya? I don't remember that from Gears 1, it's been a long time, so wassup with that? Because that's why I took away from the final cutscene. Regardless, good game, short, but entertaining. And BOY, did Epic make Skorge go out like a bitch. Anti-Climactic as hell. papanesta
Play it through on co-op with a friend at least. I played it through with my brother after completing it, me on insane, him on hardcore. It brought another level to the game, more fun. I still think it's pretty long as well, took us a good few nights, probably even longer if we were both on insane. The cut scene was short, but I don't know what they would have gained by making it longer. There's very little closure after blowing up mankind's last stronghold. Best leaving it for the next game, I think. Did you listen to the bit after the credits? And I think they've always had chemistry, which was less obvious in this game due to Dom and his situation. But like you, it's been a long time since the first. Skorge might have died like a bitch, but he was a pretty lengthy boss.
Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
^ Yeah, I was thinking about co-oping it. It's one of those games that seems like real fun to kill a night with. I imagine playing on Insane is more bearable with two people, right? I guess, I meant more dialogue aboard the Ravens as they flew away. Marcus to Dom, or Anya to Marcus, or Hoffman to Marcus, etc. Something to wrap up the game in a different fashion. And yeah, I heard that bit at the end, it right creeped me out. What was that? What did it mean? And I was oblivious to the chemistry, did we have even see Anya in person in Gears 1? I really hope that 'relationship' becomes a prominent story thread in Gears 3. I agree, his fight was lengthy. But he was easy to beat, and the way he went out was laughable.
