RONIN1191
I'll repeat myself: VICE CITY Thats where I wanna see it; the next GTA. That'd be too live. I agree with the other posters; London would be depressing and gloomy by comparison.
sabbathfan
If they did the same to Vice City as they did to this then why go somewhere new? We'd get a new city and it would still be relevant to the game world. Theres no point in London, Glasgow, Paris, Madrid, Casablanca or any of the other pointless places people have been suggesting. A next gen, well fleshed out version of Vice City (which was modelled on Miami circa Scarface) would be awesome!
Fnorg
I say make a better, bigger, badder Vice City. I don't want it in London, seems so gray and foggy. Sure, NYC is dark, but it's still... Cool. London doesn't have that sense of "cool" to it. How many awesome copmovies were in London?

deXtroid101
the los angeles area!!!! that would be a great setting: it's warm and you have a lot of diversity. meaning people of all races living together and you have the really poor gangsta folks and the really really rich folks. it's kinda like a melting pot and that's just what a game of this type needs. SantiagoDomingo
You guys are all stupid. There is only one, and I repeat, ONE possible location for the next GTA . . . Gotham City. Now after you get those 5 stars and kill a bunch of soldiers what happens? You get a 6th star . . . But what could come after the army? Batman. Eventually you get hunted down by Batman. Think about it . . .
Fnorg
NYC, LC that is, has Spider-Man, and we all know he's cooler. Of course, since it's GTA, he'll be called Puss-Man or something...

leftylucky
hmm, well if i were to be realistic, i could not see a whole socal game that ranged from los angles all the way south to the border, because the fact that Rockstar is trying to make gtaiv all dense and very detailed and i would assume they ll do the same with their next game and this would be very difficult to make a socal game. Also, a game the size of socal being that maybe just the los angeles area would be the size of the next liberty city, would probably mean that the game would be atleast 3 times bigger than IV. And i think R* would avoid such a huge game because it would be quite an annoyance getting around from end of the map to the other. But maybe a socal game could be very possible if it was ps3 exclusive (taking advantage of the large blu ray disc space) and that planes were put in the game. But im all for this idea, love to see my hometown orange county being parodied I didnt mean the entire range of ALL of Socal. I just meant one area of socal like Orange County, or Los Angeles, or as you mentioned, San Diego and the border. Encompassing all of Socal would be pretty hard and Id rather they just focused on one or two areas of socal and make it very detailed and well done. As much as Id love to see Orange County be the setting, I think that San Diego would be a better choice. I think that them doing San Diego is a big possibility. JJ*89
I'd like it to be in a whole new detailed Miami, like Vice City but with all the advantages of the next gen consoles. San Franciso and Los Angeles would be nice too.

While Batman is a beast, he can't hang with Spidey- he has faster than human reflexes, superhuman strength and agility, sticks to walls, basically, he's way cooler and much more capable than Batman. Yea, Batman's rich and hi-tech but honestly? Spidey would WHUP the dogpiss outta Batman. Batman has a better chance against Daredevil or Punisher. LOL @ dude who wants it in America so he can kill Americans. You haven't gotten punked by one lately, have you?
tmac9wr
In my opinion, there is no question that the next GTA should be located in 1980's Vice City, with a new map like they're doing for IV. Vice City's style still remains the best in the entire series, and it definitely has the best story (IV may be better, but we don't know the whole story yet, so I'll say VC has the best story of all the GTA games that have been released). The whole 1980s cocaine cowboy story never gets old, and the possilbility of being able to have a larger, more in depth Vice City would be so cool. They could even add some off-shore islands that technically wouldn't be apart of the country so you could smuggle in cocaine from some Bahama-style tropical islands. Also, with the Blu-Ray R* would possibly be able to fit the new Liberty City on the disk, giving you the ability to travel up to LC for different types of smuggling missions. I actually really liked this feature in the "Scarface" video game. Just the fact that you could boat to Cuba, get the Coke from your supplier, and then smuggle it back into your distribution/sorting centers was amazing... That would be a cool feature. tmac9wr
^^^I completely forgot about that feature in Scarface. I think our boys at R* would be able to make the islands much cooler than Scarface did...although theirs were nice too.

ChillyPhilly
Rhodes, a Greek island. Been there personally, in 2002. Geographically speaking, the entire island could fit on a Blu-Ray disc easily and on an HD-DVD disc, space permitting. The fictitious country of San Esperito as seen in Just Cause was a few square kilometres smaller than Rhodes. Visit this link or ask me if you've got any curiosities, but I doubt you would. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhodes

I think a present VC would be better because the drug buisness in America is far more dangerous and fierce than it was in the 80s. A present VC where you play a Cuban or Hatian gangster importing and exporting drugs and also build the Empire Building aspect up where you can have various fronts build like clubs and resteraunts as well as buying property and controlling the overall drug market by making the prices. I think maybe a 1970s San Andreas where you get to play as a Italian Mafia member trying to build an Empire in the luxorious SA mainly Venturas would be great. Also I think a 70s LC would've worked great because the 70s,80s and 90s of NY were the most dangerous times for the city in history with crime but LC had been used to much. I still think a whole state consisting of areas based off DC, Philadelphia, and mainly Baltimore would be great. You play a young black corner kid starting off in the city based off B-More and you start doing your own things and I think that would be a great GTA. Or a Midwest state GTA based off cities based on Chicago, Detroit(which could very well be Carcer city) and Cleveland with smaller cities based on Akron, Dayton and Youngstown Ohio. Gary, Indiana and Flin,t Michigan since all the above named cities are full of crime. Edited February 26, 2008 by Southside Dukes Ballas

Ya i couldnt see Orange County being ever by it self, but added on to say Los Angeles because orange county is really a suburb to Los Angeles. I couldnt see it being added on to San Diego because Orange county seems disconnected from San diego with all the open space that is camp pendelton. And going from OC to LA is seamless, u wouldnt know where one county line started and where the other began, its just one big metropolitan area. And with rumors of the next gta being ps3 exculsive, making orange county and the LA county as one game that is twice as big liberty city and just as detailed seems very possible. But ya i could see the san diego idea being made, since R* has a type of headquarters there. It must have crossed there minds before. And i would be bored by say carcer city, it would be too familiar to liberty city. But if i were to bet money i would say the next game would be in vice city and then after than London, even though i would hate to see that. I think the san diego idea is up there on their drawing boards, but i think its too much of a wild card to actually get my hopes up to believe this was the next game, even though the idea would be great.
