Silent
I don't see why it can't be released. I don't even care about modifying LCS and VCS, I just need that version for something I'm working on for Manhunt 2. Man, you don't know XEPO

Man, you don't know XEPO It is people like that who are ruining the modding community, its just disgusting when people make things, show them off and refuse the share them around, the word selfish comes to mind with a few others but there still might be a chance for release, who knows, I don't even care about the LCS-VCS Importing, I am more focused on the Manhunt 2 Part for getting the vehicles out of it. GoodNTS does this a lot too. We get it, you can open it up. Unless you're planning to share it, keep it to your damn self. There's no sense in "LOOK I CAN OPEN THIS!" when you have no plans to share it. Hell, I've seen people stay away from researching something because someone else already opened it and they thought the person would be a good citizen and share it with everyone; but in the end that person didn't release anything. EDIT: And GoodNTS's excuses don't make since either. He claims he won't share the version of his program that opens up the console versions due to people hacking online but yet it would take him all of a few minutes to make just a read-only version where you can only view and export. Silent
The proper excuse would be that this tool may be created only for one specific mod, but then it makes no sense to create a new topic for it. I ain't trying to defend him or anything, just saying how HE may see that. I'm no saint neither. I have some private tools, but the reason for not releasing them is the fact nobody would use them (like Native IMG Builder, 90% of the community would go OMG WHY USE sh*tTY COMMANDLINE TOOL WHEN I HAVE COOL IMG EDITORZ). OpenIV approach, yeah, is a bit weird too. I understand all the encryption keys stuff, but there ALWAYS is a way to get around certain rules. Russians should know these ways the best

Russians should know these ways the best If the tool was created for a specific mod (Being the LCS Conversion he is apart of) then why add the Manhunt 2 and all these other features which are not going to get used by the mod. I see no reason why this new version of the script should be held back from the public to stop other people starting a competing LCS mod as we can already download an LCS .MDL Importer I can understand with personal tools that might only be of use to yourself, but if someone asked for it would you not share it, besides this is something that will be useful not only to the GTA Community but also the Manhunt 2 Modding Community. Piggsy pls
Sorry to bump this, but I don't see why XEPO can't at least answer whether or not he will release the script, it could be great for Manhunt 2 modding because there is no other way to edit the .mdl files of Manhunt 2. PS2 .MDL Importer does not edit the MDL files. It's only import in 3D Studio MAX. If until now no one has done in the MDL export format - so it's not necessary or modding Manhunt 2 is simply not popular.

He knows the script itself does not edit Manhunt 2 Models, he is saying that it will allow people to edit files as there are no other importers or scripts for the Manhunt MDL Files. The Manhunt community has not been to big on modding for the simple fact there is not really any tools around to edit them, so GTA has mainly been focused on with the modding part. Yeah, this is what I meant. Thanks for explaining. There actually is a large amount of people interested with modding the game, but they're held back because we can't open the .mdl files of the levels. I'm mainly just interested in importing/exporting models between levels.

Piggsy pls
The modelspc files are in .mdl format on PC. This is where level entities, such as character models, are placed, and this is what we would like to check out.
Garju67
they are fully compatible People aren't asking for explanations, they are asking for you to release the tool. But well guys, don't get your hopes on it, this guy is so selfish...
41hc1
they are fully compatible That's XEPO for you. Teasing is what he likes to do the best It would be more "compatible" if you would release the f*cking tool. He should take that bullsh*t somewhere else if he won't release the tool. Why are you even working on it if you won't release it? What is the point? It would be really useful. With the proper tools, it would be more popular.
