[REL | BETA] PS2 .MDL Importer

Hi,

 

This importer seems to import VCS car models with the 'normal' objects named as dummies. Is this supposed to happen, and do I need to create my own dummies, or can I clone the objects as dummy?

Does someone know where to find a mdl imprter for PSP files. I tried this one, which is a I found out later only for PS2, and its imports only the dumies.

Other than that you may consider this an open source project to which anyone

may contribute, if they want to.

Thanks smile.gif Where can I find a list of materials used in model? For example I imported Model11.mdl from World221.wrld. I don't know, how much materials this model use. Can you help?

Use grazy material: in materials write the number in the group tritstripts mdl, and then merge the groups of the same material do not forget to correct the UV, if necessary.

Yes, but only tristrips. Read the title of the Manhunt 2 I have not done (to convert stories I do not need it).

Nope. The Stories games run on a different engine.

R* gave up on Renderware when EA bought Criterion back in 2006, that's why the Stories formats are different.

(i don't know about the exact methods you use, so this post is just guesswork btw)

 

Do the textures get re-arranged in the same pattern on every dff? If they do, then have you tried automatically re-arranging them in the same pattern to see if that arranges all imported xbox dffs correctly.

Does the texture list get flipped? like tex1tex2tex3tex4 changing into tex4tex3tex2tex1 ?

 

Like i said, those are just uninformed guesses but they might help, not sure. Great work though.
