Can we have a little poll on this topic,as to who supports Albania(US&others) and who is for Serbia(Russia&others) and who is for Kosovo being inderpendant?

Besides,this isnt just between those 2 countries,but between the world forces too.

Lets continue with the discussion now.

I added the poll, does it suffice? I was a bit unclear about exactly what options you wanted.

Ah, a nice new poll I see. Well, I voted for Serbia keeping Kosovo. If we allow one nation to split apart then we're just asking for trouble in our own homes. What is important is keeping everything nice and quiet, keep the status quo and things can't go too badly. But now chaos has been invited into the living room and offered a nice cup of tea. Where next? Wales? Texas? Prussia? Giving people what they want is like toppling a line of dominoes. This has already caused trouble and more will follow.

Wait? You want to keep Wales?

What's Kosovo?

You're from Croatia and asking a question like that, and your IQ is 139? (not that IQ represents the level of trivial knowledge, but give me a break, you get my point).

sarcasm.gif wwhw..whoa.

Oh, yeah, the actual thing I had to say was that a gang of 10 had a big fight two days ago at this mall in my city. tounge.gif Of course, the retarded, overly PC, cry baby news just either say "foreign groups" in these kind of situations, but this time they actually had guts to say that they were BALKANS. Oh, yeah, and that was pretty much a dead giveaway.. we've got tons of Kosovans here and the only people they'd fight would be Serbs.

Actually, not necessarily. Albanians have problems with Macedonia and Greece aswell.

@Brutuz: Yeah, well you are just a little naive.

Seeing as people can't be civil in here, this gets moved to D&D.. And it'll be subject to those standards. There will be no more childish name calling (I spot 'blind dick' just in the last few posts), at least not without consequences.

I was about to suggest that, jallar. I wanted to see if having this in D&D would impact the results of the poll.

Serbs plan to partition northern Kosovo

Kosovo, the world's newest state, is facing a partition of its territory only a week after it unilaterally declared independence from Serbia.

Serbian settlers demonstrate against Kosovan independence

Serbs in the ethnically divided city of Mitrovica demonstrate against Kosovo's independence

The mostly Serb-populated northern region around the divided town of Mitrovica, next to the Serbian border, has begun preparing a de facto secession from the newborn country that Serb officials consider "illegal".

Hmm, wonder how this is going to go over? Whats your guy's take on this? The entire region is becoming a flashpoint as we speak, or is powder keg a better term?

The Kosovuars are not in a position to do much about this, and the UN and KFOR troops won't help them keep the city, I don't think, being they are not used in offensive roles, but will act in self defense, if the whole situation goes belly up, or if a Serb army crosses the border.

If Kosovo can declare independence, and northern Kosovo can't rejoin Serbia then then Kosovo and the entire western world are giant hypocrites.

I think the term is Kosovars.

Honestly, I say good on them. You have to realise that Kosovo, even if you do support them, declatred their independance against international law. It is a United Nations law (I think) that any secession must be thoroughly dicussed with both parties, with an agreement in hand, plus at least a national referendum in the break-away region. I realise what we may be doing is illegal, but atleast it shows that we are willing to play Kosovo's game.

Which is what they should do in Bosnia! 49% of the land belongs to Serbs, and in that 49% the majority of people are Serbs! Why can they not declare independance? Even though they might only be recognised by Russia and Greece, that again shows that we are willing to play ball too.

By the way, the Serbian army is not that stupid to actually invade Kosovo. We want to preserve it, not destroy it.

@TFatseas: Are you Greek?

Well Republika Srpska (which is a part of Bosnia) and where majority of Serbs live has signed a declaration by which if Kosovo stay inderpendant,they go inderpendant too,or they join Serbia...something like that... dozingoff.gif

So who's next? California,Basque,Kurdistan...

Look at what Turks are doing to Kurds! Why does America not give Kurds independance? Or Basques? Or Irish? Or Chechens? No, they only focus on Kosovo, and support them, but not anyone else.

By the way, where did you hear about that 'declaration'?

@TFatseas: Are you Greek?

Yes sir, I do have a strong Greek heritage in my family. But I am a born US citizen.

I honestly neutral on this subject, even if I do come across as pro Kosovo. I understand that this sets a dangerous precedent that could really mess up international laws. The course of action I want taken is the course to keep peace in the Balkans, I just don't want bloodshed and war to come to this already war torn region.

The Serbs have as much right as anyone else when it comes to this, it was their country that has constantly gotten smaller over the years. And Kosovo was a part of their country.

I did not support the KLA, and and I do not support the the subsequent organizations, they are terrorist organizations, I don't doubt that. They are just as bad or worse as anyone else in this conflict, they have committed crimes that not one person should ever experience. Their organizations should not be allowed to exist as long as they pose threat to anyone.

I do understand that this conflict is deep rooted over centuries, I do know this is seared into the people of the region, and it is not going to end anytime soon.

@AndySerb: What the hell? Gosh, that was dumb. You would think that the news would at least post the full country. It is not like Vojvodina has any reason to be independant; more than 60% of the people are Serbs, and we do not have any problems with Hungarians anyway.

It's not for nothing though is it? Although I can see how some people like to downplay everything and pass it off as "pointless". This isn't always the case.
