Hey, can we please keep the world's stupidest war out of this?  Yes, that is World War I.  When you look back, it is a war that should never have happened.  Compared to World War I, the war in Iraq seems sound and justified.

Yeah, and it really bugs me when people call it the "Great" War. Surely WWII, with it's superior weaponry, longer duration, and higher death toll, was miles better.

Holy shiiiit....i just got back from the Town...around 1 Milllion people out there in protests...you couldnt breathe...thought it was pretty nice and sweet to listen to the Serbia leaders hoping and praising Spain,Russia and some others that gave us support,and in front of the church,some of the sweetest Serbian national songs sang and the anthem...made me cry,honestly...

 

Later on a minor group(around 8000 people) went raiding non-serbian stores,McDonalds,Raifaissen bank,Croatia embassy,Danish embassy,British,Turkey,Albania etc...US embassy as well,its tottaly owned and burnt.

 

The best part though is that i broke a window on one of the embassies,dunno which one,i think it was Turkish,but it might be US

 

Now i'll go and see what i captured with my camera,too bad it was broken when the police started to chase us... luckily i saved the memory card...

Yes, AndySerb speaks the truth about there being such raids, yet there are mixed feelings about Kosovo among Serbians yet.......this really isn't the rest of the worlds business.

 

Russia and Spain are both in positions of compliance for both political and religious reasons which is both understandable and proper to support those who hold many of the same veiws as yourself.

 

Yet, attacking Embassies is a tragic thing regardless of who they belong too.

 

When my own country made such "accidental" attacks it was tragic then too.

 

Yet, I have been among large groups before and I know the spirit of such things is overwhelming and often intoxicating, the sheer power of such things is always amazing, regardless of what comes out of it the power of such demonstrations is a mighty thing.

 

What this will lead to is another set of choices in the path.

 

Hoping for the best while you prepare for the worst can be done simutaneously.

 

Sometimes the darkest of things you can only prepare for within your soul, it is a great thing that that is where hope comes from.

That's not rational at all. No offense, but nothing you do effects my daily life. You can burn that embassy and your whole country to the ground for all I care. The only attention you're getting is the bad kind. You know, the "look at all the violent retards" type of attention.

 

Personally, whenever I see people rioting in a destructive manner like this (even when I see it in my own country) I lose any desire to be associated with said violent assholes. If I was unfortunate enough to live there I'd want to be independent from your country too.

Serbia doesnt even exist in some people's minds and they tend to do that in real life,not just in minds.

 

Once when i was in New York City,Manhatten,one guy in a small shop,shopkeeper to be precise, asked my family where are we from.We said clearly Serbia,and he,just nodded the head positively,saying ''Lithuania,yeah i know that is near Russia or something''.

 

Or...he sucks hard at geography...

 

One more thing i noticed...while the peacefull first two hours of the protest went by,none of the televisions didnt post the news or the good vibes and atmosphere of 1 million people

 

 

...but when the US embassy is attacked,the whole world turns it into breaking news...

What the hell would a US Marine do inside an Embassy?

The USMC are the units for guarding all US embassies in all parts of the world. Been that way for a long time. That's just for embassy grounds, State Dept sercuity teams guard the dignitaries.

 

ETA: Since 1946 and the Foreign Service act. They are supervised by the Marine Embassy Security Command.

ETA2: They also consulate all overseas State Dept. posts.

Anyway.... just a quick post as I don't enjoy arguing, especially online.

 

To understand the whole Kosovo situation you'd have to study up the history of the Balkan region as a whole. The Albanians for one claim to be decedents of Illyrians which in my opinion is nonsense. I don't doubt that some of the Balkan people have some Illyrian blood, but there is noway that the majority of Albanians could be Illyrian. They don't all even follow the same religion, let alone come from the same people. Do to it being the crossroads between western Europe and Asia for so long, many of the peoples populating the Balkans have mixed with other ethnic groups.

 

I don't think any ethnic group in the Balkans can claim land based on its history, the ownership of land there has changed hands so many times that there is no real ethnic group today that has always been "native" to that land. Kosovo should probably just be divided among ethnic borders, but this is unlikely to happen. If the Serbs allow Kosovo to separate, the Russians fear that it might encourage the republics(Chechnya..ect) under their control to go after independence. The same scenario might also happen in other places in the world: Spain, France, Turkey and Iran(Kurds)...the list goes on..

Its a fact that Kosovo declared independence against every international law. Its a fact that America has plans with Kosovo and thats why they support it. Its a fact that Kosovo is not a county, but merely a part of Serbian territory. Its a fact that Albanians forced Serbs out of Kosovo with help of their fellow Americans. Its a fact that Albanians wanna take Kosovo in order to join it with Albania.

 

All of that fuss about Kosovo started in 1992 if I'm not wrong. And if anyone knew what was going to happen they wouldn't have let any Albanian across the border

 

And I am Montenegrin. AndySerb should know that people that Montenegrins are DEFINITELY not Serbs. But still, I dont like this whole independent Kosovo idea. Nothing good can come out of this.
