GamerSuper
Well I have the latest version of TXD Workshop. and it opens the most xbox's textures incorrectly. For example: What I have to do? I need replace some textures but they're bad. If i will replace cracked texture by normal, in the game it would be cracked. What I have to do, how to replace xbox textures correctly? blackindia
I use a program called "Swapper" to mod files that look like that Example bald.txd 1. Use the program "Swapper" on bald.txd. It now creates a file named baldX.txd which you can see in TXD Workshop. Mod your baldX.txd as you wish then hit save. 2. Use Swapper again and reswap your modded baldX.txd. Swapper now creates a new file called baldXX.txd 3. Rename baldXX.txd to bald.txd and its ready to use. However when you "reswap" you choose some alternatives like import alphas or whiteout etc. It been a while since I used it and im not sure exactly the correct way. It also seems like you suppose to do it different way if its tshirts, haircuts or regular shirts. If you do haircuts like "bald" im pretty sure that I choosed patch for xbox =yes import alhas = no Whiteout alpha = yes If you do it incorrect your txd gets messed up and end up with CJ having black arms and neck or be transpaerant face or stuff... blackindia
Here is the readme on that program: ------- Swapper ------- Revision 11. Purpose: Allow modding of GTA:SA, KOF & OutlawGames on XBox by complimenting TXD Workshop. Background: XBox files look like a garbled mess when opened in Workshop. Functions: -UNswizzle them to usability, allowing you to open & edit them in Workshop -REswizzle them AND Patch back to the XBox standard -Dump textures as TARGAs for ease of editing -Export&Import Alpha Maps (saved as RAW for photoshop use) Limitations: -Although it will decode & recode files like particle.txd, Workshop is incapable of opening them -i.e. is only useful for files Workshop CAN open but which appear scrambled Requirements: .net framework -majority of people will have this already -if not, it's a one-off download -http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en Usage: 1)Click YES the first time to UnSwizzle 2)If you want TARGAs, click YES 3)If you want to preserve the alphamap, click YES 4)Edit in Workshop 5)Click NO the second time to ReSwizzle 6)Click YES to Patching 7)If you want to restore the original AlphaMap, click YES 7b) If you clicked NO, then you are offered a Whiteout of the AlphaMap. 8)Rock your XBox! Example: 1)Open tshirtwhite.txd with Swapper, click YES (to UnSwizzle) 2)Click NO for no TARGAs 3)Click YES to preserve the AlphaMap ([texturename].RAW is created) 4a)Edit tshirtwhite.RAW in Photoshop 4b)Import into tshirtwhiteX.txd using Workshop 5)Open tshirtwhiteX.txd in Swapper, click NO (to ReSwizzle) 6)Click YES to Patching 7)Click YES to importing AlphaMap (reads from [texturename].RAW) 8)tshirtwhiteXX.txd is your final file, use it to overwrite your original tshirtwhite.txd 9)Delete the working files (i.e. [texturename].RAW) HOWTO edit RAW: 1) Open in photoshop (should autodetect as 256x256 or whatever) 2) Image->Mode->RGB 3) Magic select the black; including that bit in the top right corner (Hold down Shift). 4) Copy&paste ->Layer1 5) Edit Away on Background layer. 6) IF you want to use BLACK then use something just off-black instead. 7) Layer->Flatten Image 8) Image->Mode->Indexed -Forced Black&White -Local(Selective) -Preserve Exact Colors 9)Save as BMP ->Choose OS2 Author: Cyclone Contact: GTAXboxMods Forum http://www.forum.gtaxboxmods.com WARNING: Always back-up your files FIRST!
