Sonic Youth

Any fans? Awhile back someone recommended me to them and I listened a bit but was largely dismissive. A couple years later I downloaded a few tracks and listened to them every once in awhile... a couple more years and I have their discography and I've been really digging them. They've slowly but surely turned into one of my favorite acts. From the early 80s to now they've been consistently putting out great sh*t.

 

Some of my favorite tracks: Sweet Shine, Titanium Expos, Sugar Kane, Unmade Bed, Purr, Disappearer, Thereasa's Sound World, Master Dik, White Cross, Tom Violence, Teen Age Riot, Dude Ranch Nurse, New Hampshire, On the Strip, etc.

I have Daydream Nation and Goo, and I love them both.

I've got most of their stuff save a couple of their mid-90's releases. Daydream Nation is probably one of my favourite albums ever.

 

I really enjoyed their cover on the I'm Not There Soundtrack too.

Bump because SY is awesome. One of my personal favorite songs is 'Superstar' , I had been listening to Sonic Youth for awhile before I realize it's their song that played in one trailer for the movie 'High Tension'. Definitely worth a check if you haven't heard it already.

The first time I heard the Sonic Youth was live. I heard them at a music festival and I really dug it. So then I got Rather Ripped (which they were touring for), Goo and Daydream Nation. I really like it, but I have to be in a specific mood to listen to it.
