panacead
Guys I'm looking for a bit of help. Here's what happens: Running V3.0 Lowest video Settings Low Clip Game loads and runs. 30seconds -1min later the game crashes (As soon as I'm on the street running around) I've disabled event log. deleted .sat file as other threads have said. Computer Specs: Windows Vista Ultimate Intel Pentium M 2.13 1015mb Ram Video Driver: Mobile Intel® 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM) 128mb Yes its a slow system but above the min specs. It does run the game so I think there is hope. It just crashes. Any ideas? Thanks! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/311487-game-crash/ Share on other sites
Ring_of_Fire
Well, you could reduce the hardware acceleration. But updating drivers are much better to do: Get the latest graphics and chipset drivers here -> http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-020149.htm Make sure to delete [.set] file, again, and then turn off compatibility mode (since Event Log/Task Scheduler are disabled All you had to delete was MSCTFMONITOR.DLL in C:\Windows\System 32[/ ) Video Driver: Mobile Intel® 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM) 128mb This onboard graphics chipset doesn't support Vista, and Intel doesn't even provide drivers for it. Even though Vista probably provides a default set of drivers for it, try to go into Device Manager or use Windows Update and allow it to check for updates by checkmarking "Search for Recommended/Optional Updates" under "Change your settings". Now click "Check for Updates". If it didn't find out a driver then do this: 1. Lower the hardware acceleration to Notch #4 and disable "Enable Write Combining. 2. Set the compatibility of Vice City to "Windows 98/Me" for better stability for your Intel onboard graphics. 3. Delete [.set] file. If all else fails try this http://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/tools/3d_analyze/download/. No luck, then buy a new graphics card! EDIT: Windows XP drivers may be able to run on Vista if you set the compatibility of the "setup.exe" file to Windows XP SP2.
