RyanWard87 Posted February 9, 2008 Share Posted February 9, 2008 I noticed this yesterday and didn't think much of it (and also thought it would have been mentioned by now, but with a forum search I realize it hasn't been), but since I have heard a lot of people talking about how this "special someone" that Niko is looking for could actually be his spouse, so I decided to acknowledge this theory and post this picture--although I have been personally skeptical of this theory, yet now with this screenshot, it may be a possibility. It is--as you can tell--on the left, ring finger. Now, for all we know this could just be a coincidental screenshot glitch, or if it isn't, it could be something we do in order to get access to some part of a mission (like the depth in terms of ways of completing certain missions, like the McReary/Law Firm mission). I'm only throwing this screen out there just incase you haven't noticed it yet. --- Now, as for destructable environments, this has been tossed around and speculated about on the boards for quite some time now--but it wasn't until yesterday that this was pretty much confirmed. Gta4.net even cited that "Heavy fire will scar - and permanently destroy - parts of the environment," as quoted by the scans of the latest PSM3 magazine thanks to Buubar. This could mean that the environments are permanently destructable merely in certain shoot-out areas indoors, with a few outdoors areas--not to mention what using explosives would do!...but with the word "permanently" being thrown in, to me, it gives it a sort of connotation as if it were to say the entire environment is destructable--permanently! Some things to recall from previous findings/conversations are things like the possibility of road work/road construction, and namely this screen from the third trailer: You're thoughts? Seriously, and then...you wouldn't be able to see it again until you played through the game again...! Well, unless construction plays a part...either way the idea is fantastic. That, the sandbox aspect, the multiple dialogue recordings of mission introductions, and the euphoria engine's endless possibilities integrated into the game's physics will make for a HUGE amount of replay value! Well, if I had to guess, I'd say IV will have some Kane and Lynch style team missions. And that is your team, those same 3 dudes, and that is the original position they start out in, but during the action, they'll be scattering and firing. I never played Kane and Lynch but I believe IV will be similar to it in these co-op type missions. I can't wait, looks like it's gonna be fun as hell. At least construction cranes are definitely in use. I think those are cranes used for loading crates onto ships, it looks more like a harbor/shipyard type environment in my opinion. He doesn't wear a ring in other pictures. With destructable enviroments, I think we'll only do it to a certain degree, like bullet holes in the side of a building. I hope this time round we see buildings in different stages of developement and then finally the finished product, that would be cool. Especially if the construction featured in a mission. And the two screenshots look like the same thing from two different angles i would say they are in the same place, at the same time. You can see the shadow from the building behind them on the floor.
