carlweathersarm
With Xbox live and PSN both having trouble keeping up with the added users during the December holidays I'm hoping they have taken the necessary steps in preparation for the release of GTA4. It would suck not being able able to play the game online because Microsoft and Sony didn't have the foresight of how many people will be playing this game. Hopefully they learned a lesson during the holidays and this will not be an issue.
Ronnyboy
Why wouldnt they? PSN will have 60 people with Killzone 2, and Live has already been fixed, so I dont see how it will crash it.
Freedom360
Um who cares. You don't need to play it online right away. I would rather just play the game myself first.

GTA IV wont be a game that you jump into multiplayer as soon as you start unlike COD4.
Sabin8
Im sure both will be fine I'm sure. As for PSN network sucking, I don't have any problem playing on it so yeah...
kerem101
well psn lags alot of times compared to xbox live.....i compared with my friends the servers....playing cod4 on both system with the same internet connection at the same time and xbox live was fine and ps3 lagged and made me die
carlweathersarm
Um who cares. You don't need to play it online right away. I would rather just play the game myself first. So you would not be pissed if you wanted to play the game online for the first time and couldn't. Fair enough, but that's you. If I want to see what the game offers online and can't because of server overload I will not be happy.

ryan207
Xbox live can definatley handle the load of people playing the game, but as for PS live, or what ever it's called, i don't think so.
carlweathersarm
I didn't say I'm going to play GTA for the first time online. I said, when I finally take the game online for the first time, there's a difference. I'm going to play the game for a few hours and then I'll want to try it online. It's a hugh new feature and most people that have played MTA will want to try it the first day or week. Don't worry kerem101 I know your joking. And damn it, no one thought the title was funny. That was my main reason for the thread.
doomdiver_16
well psn lags alot of times compared to xbox live.....i compared with my friends the servers....playing cod4 on both system with the same internet connection at the same time and xbox live was fine and ps3 lagged and made me die I have played many games online on psn including Warhawk with 32 players and resistance and CoD4 with full players (can't remember how many that is) and have NEVER experienced a bit of lag even when the multiplayer seems a bit tacked on last minute by the devs (e.g. blazing angels). Ronnyboy
Exactly! I hate how everyone says PSN is bad and lags. It doesnt, only the people who have a slow connection lag. Maybe $25 gets rid of lag?
Chargr
PSN doesn't lag, its mostly likely because of the Host. Take a look at COD4.

GutterSharkz
I wouldn't rag on PSN if you haven't even been on it. I have no problem playing CoD4 at all on it. It never lags, unless its the server. I'm sure it'll run fine on both systems.
Knife
XBL survived Halo fine and considering it's main focus on multiplayer. GTA IV's MP will be a side-thing really with the main game being the main point of interest. So both will be fine.

westermeyer
I don't know about PSN, but I'm sure XBL can handle it, their problems during the holidays was caused by a lot of people getting a 360, LIVE! and COD4/Halo 3, and jumping right in. They handled it when H3 released, the problem is extra users, not the same number of users jumping on one game. Since they fixed the problem and GTA is the type of game where you're going to be heading into SP before MP, there should be no problems.
Bartleby
And here I thought coming into this topic, I would see at least a dozen of these posts poking fun at the topic title. Quite frankly, I'm disappointed in the lack of immaturity in here. LOL HE SAID POKING

Anyone can call PSN or Live whatever they want, were entitled to our own opinions. I can call PSN terrifying and Xbox Live delicious for all I care. fitbikesbmx
I have both systems, and I know this example has been used before, but I feel that COD4 is really the best game to compare with. On Xbox Live, it takes me longer to get into a game, and I have connection interupted CONSTANTLY. On PSN I am in a game within a matter of 2 seconds and the only time the game ends early is because host leaves. Live is better for the chat/friend list settings, but the PSN seems to have a much more stable connection. Another major factor in this is the amount of people playing on Xbox Live vs. PSN. Glycerine
Both should be fine. The only time I experience lag on the PS3 is when the host has a bad connection. The only game that lagged on the 360 for me was Gears of War when I played it at a friends house.
