caz32
Hi I purchased San Andreas at Christmas 07 and i've just recently started playing it. The game was running fine until 2 days ago, i started getting this weird "black" stuff in game, where car's would be black and the terrain and the detail wouldn't load until i was close , i have the game running on minimal FOV but even when i raise it , its still happening (see screenshot, i marked areas in red and above the red line at the top) and also sometimes when im in a car, i change radio station and my ingame sound stops but the music from the radio carries on playing and i can hear it. Please help. Thanks. P.S: I don't get anything weird like this happening in other games. • What platform: PC • What version number of GTA: SA: Latest as far as i know. • What CPU and its speed: Pentium D 3.00 x 2 (Dual core) • How much RAM, also what kind: DDR3, 2gb • What video card: ATI Radeon HD Pro 512mb • Which version of Windows: XP SP2 • Which DirectX version: Latest DirectX 9 Also get this error when trying to patch? EU version: Edited February 9, 2008 by caz32
Bad~Boy#17
Do this : 1. Update your graphic card drivers 2. Delete the gta_sa.set file located in My Documents \ GTA San Andreas User Files And loose the no-cd crack
Ring_of_Fire
Also get this error when trying to patch? EU version: Delete gta_sa.exe, empty recycle bin, and then reinstall the game using your DVD disc to fix that. After doing so, make sure to try the NA/EU/German versions of the patch. ^ And this patch doesn't work for v2.0 or the Steam/Gamesload/Direct2Drive/Trymedia versions. You might have to downgrade first. Black Roads can be fixed by maxing out the resolution and maxing out the anisotropic filtering (AF). It has nothing to do with anti-aliasing. caz32
I don't have a CD-crack. If i reinstall the game, is there a way to keep my save games without them getting deleted? Also how do i know what version my san-andreas is ? & I set my thing to 16x anistrophic and 1280x1024 resolution, the black roads have now gone however the car's are appearing black now. gtamodder
If i reinstall the game, is there a way to keep my save games without them getting deleted? Also how do i know what version my san-andreas is ? You won't lose your saved games. They are stored in My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files, and the installation and uninstallation does not delete them. To find your version of SA, Start up the game, but don't load a save yet or start a new one. Look in the bottom right. It there is nothing you have v1. If you have V2, It will say V2.00 In the bottom right.
caz32
Ah i see, im on v2.00 so should i downgrade?
gtamodder
Ah i see, im on v2.00 so should i downgrade? If you want to mod the game, then yes downgrade. I'm sure it does something else, I'm sure it what it does is replaces everything in the game with the stuff from V1 excpet "Hot Coffee"
caz32
Hmm i see, i don't suppose you know about the vehicle thing then? about them appearing black like the roads. (by the way the roads are fixed but the cars are still black until i get close)

0mfg0rz
I don't see the problem, My game is always like this and it never really bothers me and as Bad Boy 17 said; it's kinda obvious that the cars furthest away look crappy.

Ring_of_Fire
Ah right ok, well i didn't know, i thought it was a part of the bug, it doesn't annoy me but thanks for clearing it up. That's normal. Maybe maxing out the draw distance will fix it?
jesushumper
That black road thing is a combo of AF and mipmap settings. You can turn mipmapping on and off through game options (keep it ON), but you can force it further with your video drivers, as well as your AF setting. AF being "anisotropic filtering". It basically makes more distance textures appear more clear. For your sound problem, check out the stickies at the top of the forum.
