Marz_685
first of all i know it's gta and there are always gonna be small glitches and stuff because of the scale and everything.... but the one thing that i find strange about all these new screen and vids is the inconsistency with the draw distance... look at the draw distance in some of these pics then compare them to the night time skyline pic on the GTA IV website..... how come you can see so far and clear in the skyline pic?? and not in the others?? just thought it's worth discussing.... AZAZEL
I doubt that the skyline picture from the website is an in-game photo. It looks touched up and edited/simplified.
Vercetti Gangsta
I doubt that the skyline picture from the website is an in-game photo. It looks touched up and edited/simplified. Most likely a render.
james_root
this one is the worst. look at the buildings at the right. http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/screens/12...k1_1280x720.jpg seems we have the same problem that we had in 3,vc and sa. Phil112
Draw distance will probably be different in different parts of liberty, and some of those screens could be from an older build, and - as Azazel said - the skyline pic has probably been touched up. victor-vance
the sprnk screen looks extremely simplified ompared to other shots it could have been taken in earlier development
Vercetti Gangsta
You never know what level of detail was selected at the time shooting those.
SCLASS
Is draw distance not directly proportional to onscreen polys?, so far off shots have a high draw as lower lod is used where as 'lower' shots, showing streets will be lower draw as higher lod is use. (just a guess btw )
ceedot
With the amount on screen, I would rather pop ups, than massive drops of framerate. I doubt any machine, except maybe an elite PC could actually handle everything at once.
