tmac9wr
One thing I noticed is at the very beginning of the video, the wheels of the SUV that people have mentioned don't seem to be moving at all. Does anyone else see that too? I'm sure they'll work that out before the release though.

Foddzy
Hehe, we're maybe stealing some of Jordan's thunder Credit to the man as the "father of trailer breakdowns" BTW he put up a nice download of the trailers. I'm going to go ahead and add some of the stuff that I posted earlier in my thread, maybe we can make this the definitive trailer/screenshot/other infos breakdown thread of the new stuff. And yeah it'd be nice if a mod could step in and clean it up a bit. I'll also put some info about how I go about analyzing the trailers when I get a chance (need more espresso!). Hey guys I just wanted to share a few things from the new trailers and screenshots, nothing spectacular (I'm no Jordan or Bluespot!), just some fun stuff to pass the time. Please feel free to chime in or add anything you find interesting. EDIT: I'm making all the images into clickable thumbnails. I'll start with the Manny trailer: OH THE PAIN!: It looks like we may be able to tote a video camera around (game mechanic a la Dead Rising?): guy with camera (radio station billboard in upper left): Through the lens, a "REC" recording red light blinks: Manny is not a bashful guy, notice the painting? Probably deserved to get kicked in the nuts Niko appears a couple times in the Manny trailer, is trying to join in on the dancing? Probably not but that'd be funny for sure. Foddzy
Manny's hoodie says "Manny's Gym" and his place is the St. Mary's Community Project, (there is a video game console in there with an animated screen): These guys are an odd couple for sure, police insignia in upper right with sign "COMMUNIY POLICE DEPT": Someone was complaing about how in an early trailer motorcycles would turn unrealistically, it seems they fixed it now, the wheel/fork/bars seem to turn, the bike even tilts into the turn (resized larger): Another view of the Liberty Eye ferris wheel: They fixed the missing train interior Jordan pointed out in an earlier trailer: More locations... Airport.. hmm...:
Foddzy
On to the Roman trailer; (sorry if any of this has been mentioned elswhere (I'm sure it all has (nya nya naysayers and wetblankets), not trying to step on anyones feet): The exterior of Roman's garage?: And the inside, I included this because you can see the Boker Navy Yard across the street ( the map guys): Niko says: "Hey Roman let me change the radio sta... oops! N-A-T-U-R-A-L M-O-T-I-O-N" (it really does look like Niko is distracted at the beginning): "Little Gorbachefs" was pointed out in earlier trailers, this time the lettering can clearly be seen. At upper right are signs "Office space for rent", "Translation Services", and a sign in the form of a video cassette with possibly cyrillic writing on it. Check out how the guy smoking looks over and Niko seems to look back at him, amazing subtlety: I'm looking forward to this game more than ever, way to go R*. Tgimnes
Don't know if anyone has noticed this, but in the scene where roman is drunk an fall into the street, it looks like his left foot goes throu his right
Foddzy
Just a few comments on the already posted stuff by David (I know a lot of this is inconsequential nit picking but hey its fun!, I encourage others to add to this thread): Inside the St. Mary's Community Project the graffitti on the wall says "MANNY'S". The people dancing in the Community Project are doing the same move at the direction of Manny, yet they are not all syched up, nice and realistic. The billboard to the right of where Manny is being videotaped on the sidewald is for the "CLASSICS" radio station, "CLASSICS NONSTOP". The punching bag in the community center looks like it could be interacted with. The sign below the Liberty Eye ferris wheel says "THRILLS, LIBERTY EYE!" The building signs in the background of the shot where Manny is running after Niko are: there is a building in the upper right that has a chain graphic going around the outside top part, it looks like maybe a garage with the words "(unreadable)_ CHAINS". Middle background building: "BAKERY CATERING" "ANTOJINOS PEURTORICANOS" (or similar) is on the 2 lines under that, below that is a faded painting of some graffitti writing and the head of a guy with a goatee (Manny?). "DILL GROCERY" (I'm certain of this) is on the marquee in the foreground. I suspect Manny is Puerto Rican. One of the posters in the final scene of the Manny trailer has a similar cartoon drawing of Manny as seen on the wall, Manny is wearing a chef's hat, he is surrounded by chili peppers among other likely food items. There is another cartoon poster image of Manny on a counter that reads "MANNY", (the guy is quite a self-promoter! ) Another poster is a "Wanted" shot of an apparent criminal who is possibly holding a gun. There is a guy on his knees behind Niko who is fiddling with either a video camera or a boom box on the ground, probably a camera or something else as there are speakers on the walls of St. Mary's. There is a whiteboard in the background with writing and a couple of circular diagrams written on it, the board has a nice specular reflection coming off of it. I noticed in the shot where Manny takes a knee to the groin that there are drops of water running down the camera lens, these were also spotted by others in the earlier trailers where water was being splashed. I'm wondering what you guys think of this? I think it is a nice effect but I think R* should think twice about keeping this feature in. Why remove it? Well my reasoning is that it attracts attention to the disembodied "magical" camera that floats around to follow the action, it looks good but anything that draws attention to the physical presence of this magical hovering camera takes away from the immersion factor IMO... Capricornus
In the pic where Niko and Manny are in the car (a Stallion FTW?), has anyone else noticed the drop top on the back of he car? Maybe this confirms an optional "let-down- the-top-of-your-convertible-car" feature? Just a thought. And nice analysis BTW man. Mihai
Don't know if anyone noticed this before but in the Vlad video when he's in that room and he says" I know I'm good looking..." if you look out the window you can see the traffic light swaying back and forth from the wind. That's pretty cool.
gamefarter
I found a part of the map in Romans office that I wrote about in this post: It is a little more detailed than the outline of the map they give on the offical website. DavidGC
Thanks for keeping this topic alive people. Foddzy
I was wondering what that thing was SovietWarrior, I think you are probably correct, especially in that there is a hammer and other tools around in there. Maybe there is a blow torch behind the saw? Quite a bad place to be tied up to a chair by angry mobster types. DavidGC
Heres a little something else I did; the small `leaked`trailer. Again, any help with observations would be appreciated. The car on the left shows nice detail and reflective properties. Note the cig butt and various other debris laying around on the road. The car licence plate reads `LIBERTY CITY`. There looks to be a construction platform to the back left, behind the car. This shot in motion shows the car physics quite well, suspention-wise. The car rocks to a stop - something never before seen in a GTA game. A driver is absent however, until a few shots later where he magicly appears. The headlights cast a realistic glow on the ground in front, showing off the complex texture of the road. In the upper-right background there is a `FLEECA` sign; what that stands for is yet to be known. The door beneath the sign also sports an `EE`. A NPC can be seen to the left. The taxi driver now joins us, poping into his seat from thin air. On the left of the shot is, what appears to be, an enterable interior of some sort. Further zoom uncovers what looks like monitors which could very well mean another internet cafè, other than `[email protected]`. The sign for this building is unreadable, due to the lighting and blur effects. The bottom bit of the sign starts with `De...`while the top bit starts with `AL...`or `Sl...`. Furthermore, the people loitering around this building seem to be holding objects; perhaps coffee (more clearly visible in the next shot). Also take a look at the top floor windows; they also seem to have an interior. Take a look at the main sign for the building on the left. Work your way right till you come to the other sign. If you follow straight up from there, there looks like another interior through the window. The firetruck is also looking nice, sporting the all-favorate water cannon. Euphoria anyone? Also note the amazing draw distance. Nothing here not seen before. The blur shows the pull-out of the camera. Almost looks like flying a helecopter with Niko drunk, heh heh. This shot is interesting. No matter how much I slow it down, I cannot make out the lighted writing on the left. Perhaps it`s a bank or a business place. The blueish part at the beginning of the text looks to be a logo. And here is the magnificint Liberty City. All parts of LC can almost be seen; even Happiness Island, which is nestled to the left of this shot. Carbine23
Perhaps this hints at FI being in North Algonquin? Nah man. Francis International is going to be in East Dukes because.... 1. Kikizo said they made it to the airport as they went towards the east side of the city 2. In real life, JFK Airport is located in southeastern Queens. 3. The airport won't be able to fit in Northern Algonquin, and it wouldn't make sense. Hope i cleared that up for you

Foddzy
Nice catch Dotseoem. Seems like wherever he is out on the town it is tucked in (except for where he is having the guy video him, bling! ), but in the Project it is out, I'm sure its not a glitch. How amazing, the details and thoughtfulness put into IV are just incredible. I've never had this much fun with a game that hasn't even been released yet. Sheesh, I've had more fun with IV than most games I've played the past few years!
