DavidGC Posted February 9, 2008 Share Posted February 9, 2008 (edited) Hey everyone. I'm aiming at reviewing all the trailers. The Manny one is done and the rest are coming soon. And if you have any shots/comments/observations to add, then by all means PM me or write them here. MANNY ESCUELA TRAILER Opening shot with Manny Escuela as the main focus in the far middle. Obviously to the left is a man holding a camera which, one could only assume, means that Manny is filming his documentary. He mentions that “help has only one name in South Bohan – Manny Escuela”. This implys that they are in South Bohan in this shot. Above in the shot is what appears to be an L-Train bridge. The streets are empty except for a lone SUV. As pointed out by eltoro13, this SUV has gold rims which could indicate a possible mod shop in the game. In the top left, a billboard with graffiti can be made out. This shot takes place in a gym-looking building, with “St. Mary’s Community Project” visible on both the portrait in the middle left and to the far right on the wall. A punching bag is visible near the middle of the shot and a few people can be seen to the left. Note Manny’s detail and the way the chains are modeled separately from his body, giving it a realistic feel. A POV (point of view) from the camera's perspective (note the battery, time, REC., ect.). In this shot, people are dancing and having a good time, possibly to make Manny look like a public benefactor, more so than what he is. It shows the puffy jacket man from the title shot, as well as the girls from the dancing shot. In the background to the left, there appears to be an arcade machine and to the far upper left, a menu of some sort. To the right in the background, a lounging section can be seen, accompanied by a billboard. Nothing too special here. More of the same. A shot that nicely shows off the previous wall portrait...or the building at least. Not much else to be noted in this shot. This is another street shot. Manny and Niko can be seen in the convertible in the middle of the shot, with Niko being the driver. A SUV, perhaps an updated Landstalker, drives behind them. In the upper right of the shot is what looks like a police station. Fittingly, in the far middle right, there is a police cruiser. The Liberty Eye is on the direct left and looks just as good as before. To the lower middle is a sign, but it is unreadable from such a distance. Manny is quite obviously on the right. Upon further inspection in the Eye (and alot of zooming in), the very top visible ferris wheel car seems to hold a NPC. Is this a sign that Niko could use it too? A very nice a detailed shot. A train swoops by Manny as he stands by the Liberty Eye (previous shot) and the camera pans around to produce this shot. The train on the left has an actual, fully detailed interior, which strengthens the idea of being able to walk about in one. The top-right sign reads "J3: Trains to Algonquin N. and FI Airport". 'Algonquin N.' could mean North Algonquin and 'FI Airport' is Francis International. Perhaps this hints at FI being in North Algonquin? The bottom of the sign says "Next stop - Huntington St." A new street that I don't think has been mentioned anywhere yet. Assuming all of Manny's documentry takes place in South Bohan, Huntington Street could reside somehwere in the Bohn area. Zildjian had this to add: The sign, me living in NY currently, would read that this station service the J and 3 trains. The last stop on this line is Algonquin N. (for either the J or 3) and Francis International Airport (for either J or 3). Then it tells you that the next stop is Huntington St. Dotseoem spoted this: Notice how Manny's Chain is tucked in. In New York People tuck their chains in so they wont get snatched. Maybe he's afraid, or it's just a Glitch. Love this shot. Manny and someone else are in a fight, and you really get to see the awesome fighting mechanics. As Manny throws a punch, the other dude retaliates with a knee to the midsection. The smoothness of this transition is flawless and looks very fluid. To the far left of the shot is, what looks like, a complex of some sort. There is a banner reading "...ood Food" which could say "Good Food", "Food Food" or any number of things. To the right in the far background, we can see a shop or two which look enterable. Note the draw distance. Appears Manny likes to wear a helmet too. He's riding a Faggio-looking bike scooter and looks to have a person on the back; I'll try to get an alternate capture to see who it is. In the background to the right is what looks like the Liberty Eye. This claim supported by the structure on the far left, the rollercoaster. Seeing as there is a train bridge above, one can only assume that shot 8 is in this area on the train platform, to the upper right, due to the position of the Liberty Eye. In fact, a platform looking structure can be seen in the upper right of the shot. Back in the community center. Nothing too special that we haven't seen before. Again, nothing too special. By combining the letters from the last shot with the letters from this shot, the block letters on the wall spell out "Manny's". A pretty sexy fan is on the left of this shot, as well as a 'homie crankin' that soilder boy' on the right. Next up: Roman Bellic! Manny is now done, and I will be working on thr Roman trailer in the next few days. Cheers! Manny with Elizibetha, in an apartment seen in the third trailer. Nothing to note here, other than the bottom picture on the right looks kinda like an early screenshot of IV. Manny is runing with Niko, or after him, as you will see later. This could very well be the South Bohan ghettos. On the right of this shot is a Blade or Savannah looking car. Above that is a sign which is unreadable so far...looks like it could say "Bakery..." something. It's hard to tell. On the left, there is a group of guys that looks to be a gang. The only difference in this shot is the absolute incredible draw distance. You can see each individual street light down the road. On the right looks to be a shop - the sign is seen the the next screenshot, but I can't make out what it says. The front of the shop on the right can now be seen, but it is still unreadable. To the right of the shot, you can see Niko running away from Manny. It is Niko because he is wearing the trademark jacket and track pants. ioN added: store on the left of them is a grocery store cause i can just make ot the words it says "DillGrocery" or "BellGrocery" and that wrighting on the wall says "Baked Catering" or "Bakery Catering" and the words under it are to worn out to read. Utill we find that place and read them. Back in the community center again, and it looks like Manny has finished this part of his documentry. People stand around and clap. This is a different angle of the community center, showing the menu I talked about earlier in the upper middle area. Many of the same people can be seen from previous community center shots. This alternate capture shows Niko in the background. And I think this will be the cutscene for the first mission of manny's missions. PabloSanchez Posted February 9, 2008 Share Posted February 9, 2008 I Think that Manny's missions will be the first and, being as it is a new generation of GTA gaming his missions will be showing you the basics of the controls as such, i think that the Shot with Manny chasing Niko is some kind of practice tig mission were, to get used to the controls you have to run away from Manny and maybe he tackles you to the floor or something to show of the new physics, what do you think? I doubt it because Manny is based in Bohan right so it will probably take a while before Niko unlocks access to get to Bohan. It is said that you will start off in the game in Broker where If anything Vlad will probably be giving Niko some of the first round of missions and Roman as well.
