MIG_DE
Hi. I was wondering, Now that you can get GTA on STEAM, but can you still have modifications in it????
Picolini
It may be possible. The thing is, they're undoubtedly giving you the version 2.0 of the game, which has been changed to not allow mods. But, there are some hacks are there which allow you to get around that. You'd have to search around for "modding version 2.0 of gta san andreas" to figure out how, there's at least 2 ways. Don't take my word on that though, as they may be giving you a different version of the game altogether, like a 3.0. In that case, not sure if it'd be moddable the same way as 2.0 is. Since Steam just started offering this not too long ago, not many people have tried modding it. My guess is you can get around it one way or another, but no one has posted how, if it is possible. I've got a bootleg version of the game (not by choice, ripped off on eBay [yes, I got my money back and just burnt the CD's the guy sent me! HAH!]), so I've been looking into getting a real version of it, I'll keep the Steam version in mind, and see if it's moddable or not.
Girish
The Steam version says it's v3, but it's very much similar to v2. In case of v2, you simply downgrade your game to v1 using a downgrader patch. Use Google to search for it. However, for v3, I've heard that the executable is different from v2 and hence, the downgrader fails to work. I ain't sure about this though. MIG_DE
Yes ok, BUT can I still access all the same game files if I buy it From steam Straight to my account, like: Gta3.img etc. ?
Berkley
Nope, it doesn't work. Steam doesn't let you downgrade the version. Just buy the game on-hand.
