w4yn3st4tik
Well, I have tried everything you could think of. Reinstalling the game even failed once. Now, I am not having some other problem that I could have easily read about on another topic had I searched for it. Oh no, this is different. This is a doozie. Whenever I add any vehicle to the game, be it plane, bike, boat, automobile, bikemobile, boatmobile, or planemobile, those last 3 were made up, my game will freeze. You are probably saying to yourself: "this fool is just adding them wrong, or replacing them incorrectly." Well HA! YOU are the fool. After the proper proper procedures, my game will freeze. The real question is where does it freeze. The answer is: As soon as I leave my safehouse. It will turn black, I will see my area title in the lower left, and thats it. So, whats the dealie, yo? derty
Actually, I am saying just that, and you are the fool, not us. So, in a jolly spirit which I'm sure your sarcasm shares, HA! Actually, the main thing I was thinking was the lack of what tools you are using and what files you've changed. edit: Just a quess; you didn't rebuild the archive. GTA_int.IMG works because you didn't touch it. Then when you go outside and the game tries to render from GTA3.img, it doesn't work. Supra4
Next time try the right procedure instead of the proper one. And describe your ''proper'' procedure a bit more detailed, like step by step. Guns are in the gta3.img as well, so if you can use guns in the house it isn't a rebuilding issue. Sounds to me like you've got an invalid reference or a missing file. But then again those would simply put you back in windows with an error message. Does the game work if you load a save that sets you in a different savehouse?
w4yn3st4tik
I follow the v3 editing step by step. I haven't changed any guns. IMG editor, IMG tool. Changed extensions to .old. I go outside anywhere and it will freeze.
w4yn3st4tik
I just tried it again except I replaced the Alpha instead of the usual zr350. It still happened. I opened my VEHICLES.img file with the editor, added the ALPHA.txd and .dff, then replaced the gta3.img files with .old extensions. It still freezes as soon as I step outside. No matter from where it will freeze, no matter what I replace, it will freeze. Maybe I got the only uneditable copy of San Andreas?
Supra4
Okay, that's enough info to start with. V3 should be editable, and it seems like you're following the right procedure for V2, which is the same as far as I know. Can't really be sure as I have v1.0 myself. I have a gut feeling that the problem is that either the gta3.img changed size too much or the game doesn't read your VEHICLES.img - Did you add an extra line to gta.dat to tell the game to read from your VEHICLES.img ? If not, that's the problem - Did you rebuild the archive after renaming the files in the gta3.img? If you did, that's the problem as rebuilding it will change it's size. If you did both those things correctly, perhaps one of the v2 or v3 modders may be able to help you out as those versions aren't exactly my area of expertise. w4yn3st4tik
I forgot to re-add the line. The new problem now though is my garage doors don't open and when i replace the cars, they just don't show up. I tested it by replaced all the police vehicles and getting stars....no cops unless on foot.
