Graphics looks great enough, thinking a whole city is loaded at once, not like racing games that just load the necessary streets. People's behavior is so natural. And for the first time we watched GTAish TV commercials, using the game engine, and not just the also funny websites and radio commercials. Snake Without a Tongue Posted February 9, 2008 Share Posted February 9, 2008 The new footage is definitely a step down from the trailers. Looked brighter and more cartoony. Had that shiney effect and jagged blur. But I still thought it looked great. My only complaint being the PC I downloaded them to sucks and I'll have do them all again on my laptop so I can watch them without crashing. Basically, if the cake itself rocks I won't be too picky about the icing...It's natural that people are excited about next gen graphics, but...If you push your expectations through the ceiling, you WILL be disappointed, that's human nature. The graphics were never the reason I got into GTA, and it won't be the great decider this time 'round either. My main worry at the moment is my - perhaps false - impression that IV will feature autosave only. That would suck, IMO. Not just because it will probably mean no purchasable safehouses, but because...well, because I don't care for autosave only, simple as that. You'll be able to save at safehouses or anywhere on the fly. The game will also autosave after you complete a mission. That info is from one of the recent previews. Ah, cool - thanks, man. You have to remember this is set outside with long draw distances and maybe a hundred peds and 20 cars onscreen at once. This isn't bioshock(great game by the way) where the game is set inside and not more than 7 moving enemies are onscreen at once usually. Its also not a fighting game with 2 characters and a background. You also have to remember that in pretty much every gta game, the cinematic graphics are pretty much just the in game graphics with camera work controlling the view. I'd like more than anything to see actuall gameplay from gameplay perspective with the hud and everything, but im pretty sure the gameplay graphics will be bassically the same as the cinematic grapics we're seeing just zoomed out and placed behind niko. But for all we know they could have been taken at different points in time but only decided to be shown up now. Good point ! but why the fuk some of them look good and some of them look horrible ? That makes me think some of them are from the PS3 version and some of them are from the 360 version. Think more along the lines of different points in the time of development, when graphics were still being improved upon while simultaneously testing out some things.
