SHXC
How does one simply go about getting an iTunes account now? It asks for credit card details in the signup process, however I don't intend on buying music, I just want one so I can get album artwork. You need an iTunes account to get album artwork, Yet I dont have a credit card to put in, and I wouldnt put one in anyway, As I have no need to buy anything. Anyone know? Toadyd
I'm pretty certain that you need credit card details regardless of how you sign up, i think if you were to register for an apple id on the apple store when attempting to login on itunes you would be promoted for credit card details. There is free software out there that can download album art from amazon and other sources though, for example http://sourceforge.net/projects/album-art

You only need that if you wanted to buy music and didn't have a pre-paid card. You don't need one to get the album art work, I don't think. Besides you can just google image search the artwork, and copy and paste it in the blank spot of your artwork.

Toadyd: I might give it a try soon.. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Fozzy Fozborne
Album Art Downloader (already posted) is what I use. It's fast, easy, and free. I highly recommend that.
SHXC
This will put the album artwork in iTunes though right? I simply want the album artwork for my iPod.
Fozzy Fozborne
What it does is tag the original files with the album art. Simply open the directory containing your music and download the art for it. I think you'll need to resync the new tracks over the old tracks then it will work. SHXC
gah, f*ck all that. I have music all over the place. There must be a way to get the artwork from iTunes without a credit card.
Toadyd
There isn't. Possible solutions: Use iTunes to organise your music for you then delete the folders scattered everywhere. Don't you have a bank account with a solo/maestro card? One of those will do. Use that software and spend ages locating music file locations. Go without album art
Rhoda
I find the picture of the album I'm uploading while it's working, then when they're all on I select the songs I want, right click, "Get Info", and then double click the little white box where it says "Album Artwork". Find my picture, hit OK and it'll apply that image to the songs I've highlighted. I have about 3000 songs on my library and every one of 'em has artwork thanks to that method. It may take some time as you're starting from scratch, but it's better than entering non-existent credit card details just to get them.
EmSixTeen
There's a site/program I recall which makes 'fake' credit card details for things like this.. They're not legit, but pass the checks that companies use to verify that it's a credit card number. Unfortunately I no longer have the bookmark.. If someone finds it, throw it my way.
