Archaon, Lord of End Times
February 7, 2008By Jerry Capeci Feds Nab Leaders of Gambino Family on Racketeering Charges Teams of FBI agents and police today arrested the leaders of the Gambino family on racketeering charges in what authorities say is the largest roundup of wiseguys in history. A total of 62 mobsters and mob associates are charged with a host of crimes that include murder, extortion, and labor racketeering, sources say. The indictment names many key players during the reign of the late John Gotti, including the Dapper Don's longtime sidekick, the family's acting boss John (Jackie Nose) D'Amico, and his onetime bodyguard-chauffeur, Joseph (JoJo) Corozzo, the family consigliere, sources say. Powerful capo Nicholas (Little Nick) Corozzo and Gotti's brother Vincent are among the wiseguys charged in the long-running investigation, which was reported by Gang Land in October. The massive sweep was the result of a joint federal-state task force investigation headed by the U.S. Attorney's office in Brooklyn. http://www.ganglandnews.com/index.html 54 arrested in Mafia raids in NY Thursday, 7 February 2008 18:23 Fifty-four people have been arrested in the US, in an anti-Mafia operation targeting the Gambino family. Among those being charged are the alleged street boss, under-boss and consigliere of the mafia family; the three highest ranking members not already in prison. Most of the arrests were made in the New York area, on accusations of murder, racketeering, extortion, loan-sharking and labour violations. A further 20 arrests were made in Sicily in the joint Italian-US operation codenamed Old Bridge. The operation is being carried out by Italian police and the FBI. The Gambino crime family, one of five operating in New York, was at the centre of the Pizza Connection trial in the 1980s, one of the largest criminal cases in US history. A total of 90 arrest warrants were issued in the transatlantic sweep http://www.rte.ie/news/2008/0207/mafia.html It's gonna be hard for the Gambinos to recover from this one, I'll tell ya. Creed Bratton
I think after all those movies the mafioso's themselves are actually acting like movie characters. Thats because what you see on TV does have a large impact on people. I bet every mafioso is a bit like their favorite mafia movie character

TubbyJ
I'd imagine the Gambino's are pretty f*cked after this. Then again, Mafia families have survived through worse, like the indictment frenzy that was the eighties.

Archaon, Lord of End Times
There'll be a lot of low level guys getting big promotions now, and they'll probably be recruiting so if anybody needs a job... I'd say the Gambinos definitely will pull through. Some of those guys'll probably get out of it, plus, according to the FBI, the Gambinos have around 200 to 250 made guys. @ 60 Cent: Hah, yeah, I better be sure to file some income taxes. Archaon, Lord of End Times
Yeah, Johnny Depp does a good wiseguy in Donnie Brasco. You really couldn't tell he wasn't Italian. I wouldn't worry about the mob, GTAvanja. It's a big blow to the five families, but over all, the Italian mob world wide will recover. The mob made it through Appalachian, they'll be okay.
