EasyAs
Let me just clear up from the start that I have the utmost faith in Rockstar delivering a fantastic game. Ok, now for my concern. The length of the game. Past GTA's have been long games. I'm only just now on the final missions of San Andreas, and it has been a long, enjoyable experience. But Devs that have been known to produce long games have entered next gen with shorter games. Bioware, who made the monstrously sized Kotor came on 360 with Mass Effect, which was quite large, but the actual story quests (the mandatory) weren't all that long. I am not saying I'm afraid GTA4 will be short. I'm just saying that many games that make the next gen jump these days tend to be shorter. Just a concern of mine, but not something I'm too afraid will happen.

j0rkeh
Well I can tell you for sure that GTA 4 is going to be a long enjoyable experience, I read somewhere ( I think it was in that German magazine) that it will be around 100 + hours. I wouldn't worry if I were you, if anything new gen games will be longer, especially the GTA series.
ChaniWani
don't worry dude, even if R* did make IV shorter then they would almost certainly make up for the cut down length by having all the GTA mini game and exploration goodness that is after all why GTA is so popular, and besides DLC is probs gonna come out on both consoles so its all good this is why i would still play the GTA III series more than saints row even if i did own an xbox 360, (i own a ps3) peace!! Darrel
You're absolutely right, Next gen games tend to be shorter. One reason for this is they concentrate more on online multiplayer, take CODIV for example. Even though the story mode was short, it was impressive. Although like you I'm confident that GtaIV will have a story as long as past games, if not longer. After all online multiplayer in Gta is not the main focus, A great story comes first. sonnyx
I know that next gen games cost a lot more to make and that is why most of them are shorter. I'm not worried about IV having a short story as I believe it will be an awesome one, as you say I have full faith in Rockstar. But it's all the other "stuff" that you can do in this game that makes GTA what it is, I'm sure I'm going to spend countless hours just messing about in this game before I finish the missions. MysteryGamer
Since when has a Grand Theft Auto title ever felt short? Some people say Grand Theft Auto III but when you first start playing a Grand Theft Auto game they feel long and Grand Theft Auto IV will be no different. This is my opinion anyway. Also bear in mind here that missions are supposed to be longer and there will be more variations to complete them. In one of the recent previews Rockstar said that Grand Theft Auto IV will be the same length as Grand Theft Auto: Vice City or Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. By the sound of things Grand Theft Auto IV they offer more to do than ever before and the replay value will likely be sky high. The game's length does not concern me at all. I think I will be playing this game for a long time if the previous games are of any indication. I am positive I will be replaying the game many times over. EasyAs
100+ mandatory hours? Geez, that does sound good just saying, until the game has arrived, keep open to the possibility. Even if it does sound like a very, very, small chance right now.
SantiagoDomingo
I am sure this will be the longest GTA to date. There is no reason to make it shorter, everything about this game is bigger and better. This game will be a behemoth.
j0rkeh
Yeah I mean I still play SA all the time I never get bored of it, I can only imagine how much fun gta 4 will be.
freethy
I remember reading in one of the first previews of last year that DH was quoted as saying "GTA:4's play length is around the same scope as the previous games". So don't expect it to be much longer than SA.
