Rockstar has everything top secret R* doesn't need this, the GTA series is already known, however SR is a new franchise they have to make as much promotion as they can to get the people. Just like every GTA until IV. Where's the problem? Exactly, we just got some hardcore gta fanboys that think gta4 is god or something, GTA 4 is gonna be good, and I am a fan, but come now it's not the ONLY game in the world, it's a genre. Thats because it was made after GTA Anyway I thought SR2 was going to look better then that. I'm not a graphics whore by any means but they don't seem to have even tried to improve the look of it. Probably the GOTY of the year: Is this what it says for real? Don't they know that GOTY is Game of the Year? So it's going to be Game of the Year of the Year?? I'm not going to lie SR has a huge fan base but I'd say 99.9% of that fan base were just trying to play something that resembled GTA. Now don't call me racist or anything, but I never liked SR because of the characters in it. All your homies are either the same type of black guy which you can never find, or a white girl (WTF) or white guy (i guess I can see it ). It just doesn't give me the Gangster feel when I'm rollin six deep with two white girls, a fat asian guy, and 3 white guys. If anyone was offended by that then my bad, its just how I felt. Naw dude, I liked it, it just didn't feel right. And I do agree, SR did do some things that R* should have done butwe al learn something new. Can you imagine if R* had one? RONIN1191 Posted February 8, 2008 Share Posted February 8, 2008 I just got the first SR; I've never played it before, all I know is its a GTA clone. Personally, I think the graphics in SR are better than what was first released in SA for the PS2 but then, it should as its a next-gen release when SA was a PS2 and then ported to Xbox. Having said that, the cartoony aspect is put to good use; it takes some of the sting off the violence. This goes back to that whole uncanny valley thing; if they look too realistic, would it be fun to perform mass murder on people who think, walk and react like actual humans do? Who knows? Who cares? SR is a GTA clone, we all know it. It is a good game in its own right. GTA IV is set to eclipse the sandbox genre- it isn't remaking it, it is reshaping it, just like GTA III did. You can't compare a Toyota Prius with a Mercedes Gelandewagen; it just doesn't work. Yes they both require gas, and move on 4 wheels and start using electronic ignition- but thats about as much as you can compare the two. I feel the same way with SR2 and GTA IV; of course, I've been a GTA fan for quite some time so I'm a little biased. As soon as I finish Assassins Creed (for the 2nd time) I'll give SR a spin.
