el monoro
Hey guys, about a year ago now i lost my school council election by a small margin, and in a few weeks time the election is on for year 9. However, I'm clearly not the coolest candidate in what seems to be a popularity contest, and I really don't see how I can pull a landslide victory. Last year I tried posters, but alot of people tend to not care and vote for the most anticipated candidate. I really need help, I want to be elected this time round. willgtavcs
What year are you in? The advice given would differ whether you were in Grade 5 or Year 12. I'm in year 9. so am I , and i am in Australia as well. to win you have to be the most popular guy, because people just vote for the guy they think is the coolest. what you have to do is be the coolest that is all people care about. Unless there are more less cool people than there are cool, then you will probably win.

Runey
Brutuz is actually right, just do something that will make you popular, since all elections are popularity contests essentially.

As you stated its only a small margin, look to target a group who will win you those few extra votes. its a groundbreaking strategy

Guybrush Threepwood
a permanent ban on homework and assignments should swing the vote.... Maybe in Ferris Bueller's days. Nowadays you need to be aggressive; and that means only one thing: murder your opponents... with words! Start slandering campaigns, everything's fair game, including their family and pets. makeshyft
Bang a teacher in what way? punch or something else? Traditionally, 'banging someone' refers to sneaking up behind them with a paper bag filled with air. You pop said bag and the result is a loud 'bang' noise and the unwilling participant feeling a sense of shock.

Typhus
Accuse your opponents of being members of the Communist Party of Great Britain. Say that you have a list of names and threaten to "blow this thing wide open" unless you are given emergency powers. When I was at school I once accused my critics of being drug addicts or male prostitutes. It worked too.

Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus
Come up with a super clever and catchy campaign poster. Try using satirical scare tactics. For instance, photoshop a picture of yourself crying over the smoking twin towers. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a229/dho...giuliani400.jpg How about 'vote for me or the terrorists win?' Make fun of cliché campaign posters, make fun of your opponent's campaign poster, mix things up, and wear a f*cking suit made of the American flag. jimmy.
If you have to ask on an internet forum, I don't think you have the charisma to win a school board election, and it sounds like its gonna be a pretty serious race. You may want to resort to bribes. Edited February 8, 2008 by jimmy.
