Bull sperm and bile. Hah. First time I've heard of that one, although it is partially true. (Taurine was first discovered and extracted from bull bile, but that's not what's in your drink.) The stuff is produced by your body naturally, but through the wonders of science and chemistry, energy drinks like Monster and Red Bull also contain taurine. Hence the "energy drink" factor; past a certain exertion point your body stops producing taurine, so energy drinks "top you off" with a mixture of different things. (That's the idea, anyway -- according to Wikipedia, there's no real proof that taurine gives you a boost.) The strange thing about Nearly all of these drinks is they taste terrible to me the first 15 minutes of trying one and then suddenly they taste great and when bought a second or more times they remain tasting great. Strange because Nitros for example tasted like sour OJ at first and then after drinking half and stalling to play GTA SA for a half an hour I started with another sip and.......yummey goodness. Rockstars taste like sh*t, man. Redbull is ok. My girlfriend had me try this other one that I don't remember the name of, but f*ck, it tasted like chalky orange juice. Now drink it occasionally when I need a boost in the morning. I heard as well that they used to give that Terin? Sorry its like 6am I'm tired so I don't remember the name. Anyway I heard that they used to give it to soilders during the war and because of the long term effect and of the high dosage that in many cases the soilders developed metal health problems. Generally I feel like some bizarre deal between my body is being struck with the demons of foul tasting things that will make you vomit when ever I drink one so I rarely consume such a physical bargaining with such things. Body says "Vitamins please don't make him vomit"=Demons say "Well ....maybe but he has to suffer! " Better to use your money more constructively and visit your local health food and oriental food stores and any fresh coffee houses and gourmet food stores to find something better for consumtion....cheaper too. But most of you are young and on the busy run around time of your lives and don't have time to listen to an old fogey like me. Personally I love energy drinks, and due to my... *ahem*... proportions, they don't have as much of a detrimental effect on me as they would with someone smaller. That doesn't mean they're good for you, though. Last semester I had a serious addiction to Full Throttle and Red Bull. One week in particular I was downing about 4 cans (on average) of Red Bull per day, plus coffee and other such stuff.
