Picolini
Hey guys, figured I'd make my own topic here, for all my crap. The first few shots aren't very artistic, but mainly to show off the horrible snow we've had lately. All three snow plows in these pictures passed by within 5 minutes or so, lol. Also, I'll be going to the Chicago Auto Show in less than a week, so expect tons of pictures from that as well! aaaaaaaaannnddd... the Pink GT (my Chevy Beretta GT)
uNi
Cool photos( 5th one especially), I wish I had snow over here. I can see what you were going for one the last one but seems weird for some reason, maybe it's the angle.
Picolini
Thanks uni By the last one, do you mean the last one of the "snow" set, or the Beretta? If you mean the snow one, it probably would be better if I was able to stand more to the right and look more straight down the sidewalk, but a tree would have been in the way. Please comment guys! I see all these page views, and only uni's replied...
geomy
I really like the composition of the fourth pic - plenty of different things happening on different layers. Also the unconventional frame aspect helps move the eye. I almost wish you had waited for the SUV to pass out of frame, but I'm sure you had your reasons. Picolini
You mean the one with the white plow truck that says "City of Elgin" on it? The red SUV was actually parked there, so I didn't really have a chance, sadly. Thanks though

Picolini
What camera are you using? I really wanna buy a good camera, I love taking photos. I'm using a Canon Rebel XT. I got the kit set (Camera body, 18-55mm lens, strap, battery, charger) for $500 at Amazon.com back in November. You can probably get it for like $450 now, maybe even less since they just released the XSi. I like it a lot, it does what I need it to... but I did need a new lens, since 55mm isn't nearly enough zoom in some cases. @uni, ah, I've got an excuse for that one too I was on my back porch and there wasn't enough room to get a better angle of it. Originally I was trying to get the tire and tread in the picture, but since I was using automatic mode it kept focusing on the door part, which I found to come out nicely anyways. If it was more parallel with the car it'd probably be better...
uNi
If it was more parallel with the car it'd probably be better... Yeah definitely, would look sweet. Didn't you take more of that?

But I liked it there... I'll post one with out it though Shouldn't be a problem. @uni, nope, didn't take any more. Like I said I couldn't get a good angle, it was more of a quick spur of the moment shot and I went on. It was cold and (as you can see!) snowy, and I didn't want to get my camera and new lens too wet.

Picolini
Sorry for the double post, but I'm bumping this with some new photos. I went to Chicago today for the 2008 Auto Show. I have a good 1,000 pictures to go through from the show, so no car pictures yet (in fact, I might post them in a different topic). But, while I was there after the show, I went on the sky deck of the Sears Tower. I took a bunch of pictures up there, and since it was at night... well the pictures explain it. I've got some more I'll be posting, as well as some other city shots
WhoooMan
Awesome pictures, but what's with the huge watermark in the center?
Vanilla Shake
I just love how random that picture of the Mexican is. And these recent Chicago pictures are just fantastic. Seriously. If you ever head to a car show in New York, go to the Empire State Building. You'll get some more amazing night shots. All in all, great pictures. Picolini
Thanky Shakey @Whooman, the watermarks are to discourage thieves. Don't want people reproducing them (despite their relatively low res) with out my permission. They're hardly distracting, imo.
uNi
The first one looks pretty neat, the second would look better vertically imo.

geomy
Great night pics!! This is me jumping on the bandwagon that the first shot is teh sex. What were the exposure times for those shots? And I just noticed the watermark...needs work IMO. Just had to throw in a bit of criticism.
Picolini
I'll try and touch up the watermark Most of the exposures are 10seconds I believe. Sadly, I was in a rush (had to catch a train soon after), so I didn't lower the f/stop enough and it caused them to be a bit dark, especially the ones with the tall buildings. I did take some with the "No Flash" automatic setting, I might post a few of those up eventually.
Picolini
Here's another from Chicago... can't find the name or location of the building, I'll try again later on. If anyone knows it, let me know please.
Icarus
Very nice! That sure is a beautiful building; I also like your pictures of the skyline on the previous page - marvelous work.

Picolini
Thanks guys, I've got plenty more of the city to post. For a bit though, I'll be working on posting up pictures from the Auto Show, which I've been going on about for the past 2 weeks Here's the thread for that, in case some of you don't venture to the Vehicle Talk section very much http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...entry1057508796. Picolini
Well, sadly I didn't get any shots of the moon as crisp as the one I posted in the Photo Topic during the eclipse, but I got a few decent shots. Here's the best close up one, at 218mm, 1.6 second exposure I believe. And here's one with some surrounding stars.
