Runey
OK, I have a question....do you play on your junior high school's team, if they have one? Anyway, I played baseball...but what exactly is your question? There are tryouts, if that's what you're asking.
GTA3Rockstar
How can we tell if you can if we never saw you play? You get me? You jsut have to try out with the coaches.
SPMovies
What I'm asking is, are there tryouts for high school baseball teams, or are you allowed freely? My friend says if you apply your in, no matter what. But I think there's tryouts GTA3Rockstar, I've been on the all star team every year since I was 7... So yeah. But I think there's tryouts Yeah, of course they are tryouts, I mean if 100 people apply for the team (Which is roughly the number of applicants at the school I went to), not everyone can be on the roster, and there has to be a process of eliminating the weaker player from the players the coaches want on the field for him. BTW, I played pitcher and outfielder.
Jay
I would imagine they would hold tryouts when there are loads of people trying to get onto the team. If your highschool is small and they're struggling to field one or two teams, you'd have an easier time getting in. But if the school is large and 100+ people are trying to play, you'd have to try out and impress. I'd suggest telling the coaches that you're garbage at tryouts - but I doubt that would change their decisions though. edit: Runey and I have the same estimates lalala
SPMovies
Thanks for the great replies guys. I was pretty sure there were tryouts, but my friend who said you apply your in has a teacher in a high school so I wasn't sure. I chose that Im going to 1 of 2 schools. A private school, known for basketball but not baseball, but a good eduacation. Or the public one, best baseball team where I am but an alright eduacation. Im hoping for better baseball then better eduacation. Considering Im going to tryout for the Staten Island Yankees(Minor Leage Yankees team) when i'm 18. what do you guys think I should do? The private school or public school?

Jay
what do you guys think I should do? The private school or public school? You'd have an easier time making the team in the private school, plus you'd get the education.
SPMovies
Think really hard about Wade Boggs and you'll make the team. What the ****? Jayzamman, thats what I was thinking. But the thing is, they dont have that much of a great baseball program. And taking the train+bus will be annoying Edited February 8, 2008 by Attorney General
Jay
Jayzamman, thats what I was thinking. But the thing is, they dont have that much of a great baseball program. And taking the train+bus will be annoying Think of it theoretically. You could mess your knee up in your 20s and have no choice but to go to an office job for a year or so (or even for the rest of your career), the private eduction would ensure stable income, and the train+bus inconvenience doesn't seem so bad. Seddo
If your good at baseball how can you be bad at tryouts or practice, if your that good it should all come naturally and you shouldn't have problems really. Isn't practice the easiest part of a game. Or is there something special about baseball tryouts?.
