I think i'm in good progress with changing her mind about getting IV though. she agrees that i am mature enough to handle this kind of stuff but she still refuses to let me play them. thanks for the topic by the way. it gives me a chance to ask a question. can some of you give me some tips as to how to get her mind around this 18 buisness? many thanks in advance! Before i still didnt have a problem as my mum and dad just see it as a game like me Nice to know that there are some parents out there that don't see video games and grand theft auto in particular as the devil's plaything. I wish everyone had parents like yours. My parents don't mind me playing GTA games they know its just a game and that i'm not going to grab a knife and run out the front door and kill everyone in sight after playing GTA which is what JT would have everyone believe. 1066ant Posted February 8, 2008 Share Posted February 8, 2008 When i borowed VC from a freind she let me have it for 1 day, then see saw the gameplay and I had to give it back (or thats what she thinks i did)! I don't think they will mind as much now, I am 16 and they consider me resonably sane, I still don't think they will buy it for me, they don't like violent video games. One time i was getting mature games with my dad at EB Games, and the cashier read the content to my dad, and he emphasized the bad stuff. "Just to let you know, this game has Intense graphic violence, strong language, drug use, and strong sexual content." and than my dads like "oh my god! Why does your mother let you get these games! It's the old people at Wal-Mart or Target that say it from their heart. Like, "Alright, the total is $62.95. . . too brutually murder and torture people, have intercourse, and oral sex with prostitutes, participate in drug activities, and listen to hate speeches by everyone in this game." Mafioso86 Posted February 8, 2008 Share Posted February 8, 2008 When I was 17 I asked for a PS2 and GTA3 for Christmas... well Christmas morning came I opened my PS2 and instead of GTA3 I had Grand Turismo 3 because my grandparents saw some Dateline or 60 Minutes (which are like their Bible) or something where they said that it trains you to kill people or whatever and told my mom not to buy. Well being a bratty 17 year old I flipped out and had a hissy fit, fortunately my father (who's usually a dead-beat) is a crazy libertarian that's hardcore against all forms of censorship so he felt sorry for me and took me out on christmas day to hollywood video so i could buy it... and that was that. My parents don't mind them at all, they say it's a game just like the others. My father never had a problem with buying me GTA Games when I was a bit younger.
