sronsr
well as R* said when the car gets too much damaged it will just turn off and not move anymore, will there be any signs telling us when the car will turn off? i mean it will be stupid to escape the police when suddenly the car stopps and you will worry all day when driving the car 'damn i hope the next time i crash it wont turn off' because you cant(or maybe you can) have any clue when the car will turn off. this kinda answers my question, there will be hints/signs/clues about when the car will stop, this gives me a new question: what will be the hints/signs/clues etc of when the car will turn off? damage? car makes strange noise? any other ideas? NinjaJones
It will start smoking and make a weird noise. yeah just like the other GTAs...either that or the car will have a health bar (kind of doubtful though...)
Fakey_91
1. Visible and extensive damage to the car 2. Car makes different noises, such as engine, transmission or exhaust noise 3. Fumes from the exhaust. And cars still gonna blow up when you damage them - I have no idea where you got the fact that cars are just going to turn off when they have extensive damage. They might be harder to start or something - but its safe to asum GTA IV will use a similar car damage system to the previous GTA's. /thread
russianlegion3
That would probably be the most logical way of figuring out when the car will stop.....health bar? I hope not.

But I think they will stop working at like 95% damage and then catch fire at 100% and then blow up...
stewartjja
if you keep crashing then why not have the axel bend or break meaning you couldnt drive it
fatshady
More than in other GTA's, I think that the noise will be an indicator of this. There will obviously still be smoke, perhaps leaking fluids etc but the noise and even the power that you get from it will be different. (just my thoughts.) Sgt. Cortez
i hope damage will influece the car not only graphic-wise.
ryuclan
Dude seriously, if you can't tell when the car is so damaged that it won't run anymore then I don't know what to tell you...
ryder4lyfe
when you see that it's really damaged, and as your car drops in gears and you hear your engine dieing as the engine stalls, there will be a realistic sound for that for every car in the game. Then, your cars out of comission, THE END

Flexo Slim
Well, if you hold down the acelerate button and the car is not moving that is a pretty big indication... I should learn to read more...

MCone
Well, since you have to push a button to turn the car on, maybe when you try to turn it on, it just doesn't, and makes a sound that let's you know it's not going to start.
