I think Obama is a bigger target, and there are plenty of racist nutjobs that would be more than happy to mess him up. I really hope that doesn't happen. Yeah, it's definitely crossed my mind, who knows how far those racist sh*ts would go. I'm sure some of them would want to kill him. Also, I was checking out this site and there is two polls there which ask, "Who will win the Republican Presidential nomination?" and "Who will win the Democrat's Presidential nomination?". John McCain is ahead in the Republican poll with Ron Paul in a close second and Barack Obama winning the Democrat's poll with Hilary Clinton in a close second. I know the poll doesn't exactly ask who do you want to win but I'm sure most people are just voting for who they want to win. Also, this poll doesn't mean sh*t, there's only been a total of about 2,000 votes all together and there's still the rest of the American population's say (although not everyone votes). However, if you look into it, most presidents have had at least one assassination attempt against them while in office. So I guess it's a possibility. Both parties suck in their own special way and are completely controlled by campaign promises made to lobbyist behind the scenes... I mean by the time they get into office they are so busy trying to to commit to the favors that awarded them the millions they used to buy TV time to get into that office, that they never get around to doing what it is they said they were goin' to do in the first place. The system is so busted it isn't even funny. The only thing we can hope to do is play one side off of the other with our votes in the hope that neither side gets to powerful... not that I have a whole lot of confidence in the way our votes are counted. It would be cool to see it though...and she would be the first female president and the first female president assassinated. Bigs Posted February 11, 2008 Share Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) I don't believe that any of them have the ability to save America, but in the "lesser of three evils" fashion I throw my support to Barack Obama. On social issues, it seems to me that McCain is fairly moderate and I can handle that. However, his fiscal viewpoints and his foreign policy are basically an exact echo of Bushco, and that frightens me. I see Hillary and I notice that many of her policies coincide with Obama's, but going past that you see her character. She strikes me as a corrupt, arrogant, status quo poltician that would do nothing but divide the nation even further and accomplish nothing. Obama is obviously very skilled in rhetoric, so when judging him I try to look past that. Yet still, I see him as an honest (or atleast more honest than the typical politician) man that would unite the US better than the other two canidates. He's fresh, and I think he could lead us down a better (or atleast different) path and hopefully to prosperity. I don't really favor large spending, but it'll inevitably happen with all three of these canidates. The question is: Would I rather have obnoxious spending on a ridiculous war and other right wing agenda nonsense, or obnoxious spending on things that will hopefully improve the lives of Americans? I choose the latter. So when it comes down to it, would I rather have Fuhrer McCain, Hag Hillary, or Barack Obama? I like Barack. However, even though he's rollin' with momentum right now, I definitely don't think that he has the nomination locked up. I think it will be close, perhaps even a brokered convention. And taking a look at the possible scenarios, I think McCain could beat Hillary in the General but I think it'd be tough for him to beat Obama. Look, she did things such as the hot coffee fiasco while she was governer to make herself look good. When (and if) she's president, she's not going to do a damn thing about Grand Theft Auto. She can't anyway, it's a violation of the first amendment. Don't think I'm voting for her though.
