G MONEY $$$
Yeah. I decided to start a topic about the US elections. So what? There's no reason we can't do this in a civilized manner. I just wanted to know who the members of GTAF thought would be the best choice for the next president of the United States. You don't have to be a US citizen. Anyone is free to express their opinon. (in a sensible and non-inflammatory way) Personally, I think Obama is the best choice. Not Hillary Clinton, and definitely not McCain. Your turn. Icarus
Wait...what? Did Ron Paul pull out or something? I think he's just referring to the most popular candidates that stand a chance. I haven't been following the election too closely yet, but I'm rooting for Obama. He seems like he's got a good head on his shoulders and his ideas seem pretty top notch, plus I really don't want to see Hillary become President of the United States. We had one female Prime Minister during our 141 years as a country and we all know how that went (although technically, it was all her predecessors fault), so women shouldn't be in charge of the government... TheRoper
It makes no difference what anyone's opinion is, the U.S. elections are a total farce. Even if they're not technically rigged (which they clearly were the last few times), the news media decides who you get to choose from long before hand. That's the reason you have Obama, Hilary, and McCain in your topic title, and no one else. There is no such thing as equal time, and they only choose the most 'entertaining' candidates to focus on, so they get more viewers. I'm gettin' damn sick of it, to be honest. It's absolute bullsh*t, it really is. $$$ MAKE MONEY WITH NEOBUX $$H
Blind Joe Death
Wait...what? Did Ron Paul pull out or something? I think he's just referring to the most popular candidates that stand a chance. Oh, alright. Well if I was an American I would be voting for Ron Paul. He seems to be the answer for USA at the moment and I basically agree with almost everything he believes in and represents. Also, If McCain gets in it's just going to be the whole George Bush drama all over again. And by the way, I won't be surprised if McCain gets in since the last two elections were rigged and this guy seems similair to GB so why won't they just rig it again in his favor. EDIT: It really sucks how Ron Paul gets hardly any media attention while the others get put out in the spotlight. Oh, alright. Well if I was an American I would be voting for Ron Paul. He seems to be the answer for USA at the moment and I basically agree with almost everything he believes in and represents. My friend really wants Ron Paul to win and he was telling me all about his campaign. It sounds really solid and I remember he was showing me one of the Republican debates they were having and he (Paul) tore the panel a new asshole throughout the questioning - he's definitely got a brain up there in his head, unlike some of the current members of the GOP. @TheRoper: It's sad how true that actually is. I remember I was watching a program not too long ago and it was saying how the people of the United States never elect their president, but the media does. It's really sad, because you'll end up with masses making the wrong choice based solely on popularity and media-hype (e.g. George Bush).

Jordan
I like Obama, but I don't know who the hell I want to vote for. Obama is popular on the internet, so a lot of people like him. Sure, a bunch of people claim that they like how he is on "the issues" but has anyone seriously done more than a few mouse clicks of research on who they want to vote for? Can someone explain to me why the hell anyone wants McCain or Romney to win? If Americans like myself did any f*cking research for once on who we want to vote for, then we might get some change in this country, and no I am not referring specifically to Obama's "change" thing. Old people are f*cking stupid. I know I know I knooooowww that they don't do research on who they are voting for. "Well I heard that McCain had hard times in the military with prison camps." That's not a reason to vote for someone. Romney's stumbling in debates scared the hell out of me. I bet he'd cry if I stole his lunch money. Clinton is cold and calculating. I bet she would tell me to "f*ck off" all the while smiling at a crowd 50 feet to her left. I bet Obama is slightly suspicious of all white people just as all white people are subconsciously and innocently suspicious of all black people. Huckabee voters want him just because he's a Christian and because he reminds them of the guy they see behind a podium every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. That's a stupid reason to vote for someone. Then you've got Ron Paul who has ideas and stuff. Is he perfect? No. He's popular on the internet and if old people would take a second and shut the f*ck up and stop thinking "I'm old so I'm smart" then they might learn a new thing and decide to do a little f*cking research before they cast their ballot for some stupid reason that probably isn't valid for the candidate they blindly support. Attorney General
Those candidates you listed really are the top ones, and Ron Paul won't win. But there's a reason for that, ya dig? Sure is, that's because the US's two party system is inherently flawed. Democrats and Republicans, no matter how much they like to butt heads, are one and the same. The US is supposed to be a constitutional republic where voters elect their representatives...well, this is the second Presidential Election I've been eligible to vote for and neither of them made me feel like I had a legit voice in who I wanted in office. Two years ago, I would of said Obama...hands down. But he never swept me off my feet. Now, I don't know whether I should vote for the lesser of two evils or just vote libertarian. It's really sad, because you'll end up with masses making the wrong choice based solely on popularity and media-hype (e.g. George Bush). Stop all this "all power to the media" conspiracy theories. The media early predicted that Rudy John Q. 9/11 Giuliani and Hillary Clinton would be the ones facing off in the presidential election. Hell, even after New Hampshire some media thought McCain still didn't stand a chance. And remember when they predicted that Obama would take New Hampshire? Well boohoo, it seems like they were wrong again. Either your concept is completely false or the American public is finally fighting back against the media. Something suggests that at this election, more than ever, are Americans interested in whom become their next president. And with good reason. Your current president has a legacy to remember, and the next president needs to do some serious unf*cking of the situation. McCain is most likely to be the Republican candidate, it requires miracle for Romney, Huckabee or Paul to be the Republican candidate now. However, Ron Paul may run for a third party (the Libertarians) instead. The problem for McCain is his moderate attitude, and it is likely the far right of the Republican party will boycott the election, which may resolve in McCain not being able to fight Obama nor Clinton in November. But whether it is still going to be Clinton or Obama? Who knows?!
jaymig53
I actually think you Americans are starting to wake up just a little. I mean, in the old days, a woman and a black guy would never have stood a chance, but now one of them might win. But I still can't understand how your government and media, can be so f*cked up without anyone saying something. And how can there actually be someone who votes for McCain. I mean where I live even our most right-wing politicians, doesn't even come close to your republicans. And this isn't to bash your country, or talk bad about Americans. I'm just amazed that there actually exist such dumb people, as your hillbilly redneck fanatical christian morons. But I hope Clinton or Obama will win. I think it would be good for your country. BTW when is the final result about who wins?
Stefan.
Obama. Clinton will ban video games, McCain is just simply too old, Huckabee and Romney are bland and Clinton is a bitch, aswell. I would rather have an honest black guy running the world rather than a lying, cold bitch who has practically done the job already. She is not running to change America; she is running merely to make the position official: that she was the first female President. Any person that knows about politics understands that Hillary basically ran the country for Bill.

Picolini
There's no reason we can't do this in a civilized manner. Plenty of reasons why. The last two posts seems to give you an example of that. Politics is just too touchy of a subject, and when combined with the types of people that go here, constructive arguments can quickly turn into bashing. Very quickly. And besides, 90% of the people in this topic have their heads up their asses, at least when it comes to politics and the current major figures in the race.
