Dx 188 Posted February 6, 2008 Share Posted February 6, 2008 So i was starting a new game but on the same memory card and i got some guns and stuff and a body armor fomr the coppers station and i was just driving along tagging up the place when i saw a "Pay 'n' spray" (at least i tought it was) after i drove in it repaired my car and in a new color -sorta- and took some of my money so i was like o ok it IS a Pay 'n' spray. But then in the lil info box it says: press O or L1 (Ps2) to gear up. I was a lil conufsed so i hit O and it said bomb armed. I then realized i drove into a bomb garage which i had never done before, the reason why i didnt understand. Some1 (idk who) started shootin' at me and the car blew up. My health dropped but my body armor was still there and it said the usual WASTED . I ended up at the hospital and it gave the usual info you get when u first die but then i checked and i still had all my guns and my body armor...wtf? I thought as a glitch; in my other save file on the same memory card i was dating the one girl who allows you to get wasted but you keep all your weapons and pay no health bill. I then looked at my money but i didnt realize whether it dropped or not when i got wasted. So has any body experienced anything like this and do you think it is a glitch form the save memory card thing or what? Gimme your thoughts.... k_jap Posted February 6, 2008 Share Posted February 6, 2008 Had you maxed out your progress with that girlfriend, i.e. actually gotten the reward on that other savegame? If so, that could be the explanation. Similar things have happened to me, sometimes (both on SA and other GTAs) when you have multiple saves, glitches like this one may occur: Once in Vice City, for example, I had one savegame which was nearly 100% complete and I started a new game right from there: The game began as per usual, but to my grand surprise there were no roadblocks anywhere...So, the explanation would be that the game still "remembered" that I'd unlocked the other island, whereas in fact I hadn't. When I quit the game and restarted, the roadblocks were back in place - so it only occurs, I think, when you start a new game directly from an already saved game: Something of the kind happened to me just recently while playing LCS too, so it could be a recurring R* glitch. Dx 188 Posted February 7, 2008 Author Share Posted February 7, 2008 so i guess its not much of a bad thing but just glitchy...and btw i've only gone on 1 date with the girl with the hospital weapons kept effect so the progress isn't maxed out. I might check the roadblocks thing just to see if its definatly a case of memory glitch...ill post after ive done my next playing session... Usherber Posted February 7, 2008 Share Posted February 7, 2008 None of that is glitch. neither the bomb shop, neither the weapons kept when you have dated Katie (you dont have to reach max stas with her neither) neither the armor not gone when you are wasted. Yes, I meant which one did you think you used? Which bomb shop was it? As the others have said, the thing about keeping weapons and armour is perfectly normal. Ok im still a little confuesed on why this is normal people? Im not playing on the same save file on which i dated Katie. And i died again during the Sweet's Girl mission and it let me keep my weapons with no medical fee again so this tihng is definatly to stay. The baricades going to other cities are still there though so i dont have that glitch. i wonder about getting busted and no fine or weapons taken because on the same 'other save file' i went out with Barbara...Ill have to find that out next. The can be useful to lose wanted stars as well as to repair damage If you play a game where you date the relevant girls to keep your weapons & armour after being busted or wasted and you then start a new game without actually stopping and starting the program, then it will still have you set as being able to keep things after being busted or wasted. The only way to clear it is to stop the program and start again. That's on the PC, I don't know how you'd do it on a console. Maybe switch it off and on again? Previous save file with appropriate girl at 100%, then new game continues with same effect; made no difference whether I turned the console off, unplugged it, went outside, anything. Keeping your guns after being busted is one of those, I believe: You get it after dating the cop-chick. Try getting busted (that is, if you had the reward on the previous game). Dx 188 Posted February 8, 2008 Author Share Posted February 8, 2008 Just a small recap for me: both busted and death will let me keep weapons and armour although neither girl i dated was at 100%. This feature is very, very good for raising weapon skill cause you can go buck on other gangs and cops, die, then jsut come back and go again...its awesome i got pistol to hitman in about 20 minutes, and i eanred about 1,000 micro-smg ammo and about 200 pistol ammo after i reached hitman....The roadblocks trick does not work i have looked in every place you can exit Los Santos. I have a new idea though. I am going to jack a plane in Los Santos (as i am still there) and fly it to San Fierro or Las Venturas. I'll parachute out or land and see if when i die it will take me to that city hospital / police station instead of Los Santos one. I'll include the results tommorrow....
